GLAMMER's Journal, 17 March 2014

I have splurged therefore I diet! I can't believe how easy it is to start piling the pounds on again. BUT, I've lost 1.2 lbs last week, even with going out to dinner with Daughter & eating lots of fattening but so yummy shrimp. So I'm happy & determined to stay on track & not get discouraged. "This too shall pass" ~ right? I missed a couple of days on my food diary, but not worrying about it. At least I've started using it & it is helping. I'm trying to eat about 300-400 cals for breakfasts & lunches, then 400-600 cals for dinner. I think these are good goals, & are pretty flexible. I usually know what I'm fixing for dinners, so I try to adjust my breakfast & lunch calories so I don't go over 1400 total. I try not to snack between meals as I find this makes it too easy for me to go over in my total calories. I have an appointment today with my sleep apnea Dr, so off to the big city we'll go in a little while. Have a great day, dear friends!

Well, Glammer, that sounds like a good plan. If you find it difficul to make it from one meal to another without cravings, then plan your snacks, so you choose something more nutritious and filling with less calories, instead of something you might find in a vending machine. Good luck!

Thanks for the good advice & encouragement DK. I do keep baby carrots & celery sticks on hand. I put some in Hubby's lunches, then the rest are up for grabs for both of us. We get some food from a local food pantry, & that's how we sometimes get more fattening snacky things. But they know Hubby is diabetic & we're both trying to lose weight, so they try to give us lots of sugar free & healthier stuff, which we greatly appreciate. We usually save the snacky items for desserts, as they are usually small portions of 100 cals or so. The temptation is there to eat them for snacks, but I can usually just ignore them & grab the healthier stuff. I've been pretty good this week, & am looking forward to next weigh-in on SUN. Let's keep it up! :)
