Annabelle3117's Journal, 18 January 2014

Hey everyone! Down to a new low today, despite taking the entire week 'off' due to near death experiences. I have to admit I have a bit of an advantage over the scale, seeing as how I can't eat. I feel like I need to gargle ambesol, the spray isn't enough to numb my pain. This girl right here can't win. I've been trying to stay hydrated, taking airborne supplements to boost my immune system but it just seems like every day is worse than the day before. I called my family docs office yesterday evening to give a message to the doc about my continually swelling tongue and red and white patches consuming my tosils, the receptionist's rude response was "well, what do you want us to do about that". Nothing ma'am, just thought it would be a helpful clue to give the mortician who is stuck doing my autopsy next week!! Jeez louise. Fever comes and goes, at least someone is trying to fight this infection, might as well let my body give it a go lol.

Ugh, so regardless of all of this I will be heading out shortly to watch my sister for my mom. There is a wheelchair accessible mini-van for sale that she wants to go look at. We desperately need a wheelchair accessible van for my sister, desperately. She was going to ask my step-sister to babysit, but they have had a death in the family, so I'm stepping up where I can. She didn't want me out and about,(my mom) but I highly doubt moping around my house feeling sorry for myself is going to make me well any faster, so I might as well be occupying my mind. The distractions help.

My husband has been absolutely adorable running around trying to make my life easier. We got about five inches of snow in a two hour time frame yesterday. When I got home from work he had shoveled the sidewalk, as well as a huge area of the driveway where I park, so I wouldn't have to trudge through the snow drifts. Might not seem like much, but It means the world to me that he'd do that after working a twelve hour shift. I guess chivalry isn't completely dead. If only my kids would start listening and stop fighting, every time I raise my voice it's like swallowing glass. I guess I need to make my words count, threats will be getting much more sinister lol. It's hard to sound scary though, when your tongue is swollen. Perhaps I'll just start throwing stuff at them, no words of warning just Whap! Right in the head. lol Alright, well I've got to scoot. I hope everyone is well :-)

Congrats on the loss. Doesn't matter how you did it as long as you're not sticking your finger down your throat. Something I used to do moons ago with kiddo. When sick, I'd write a note and let him know I was sick and would he be a sweetie and keep it down a bit as the noise hurt mommy's head. You're at a disadvantage. Can't scream and raise hell, so kill 'em with kindness. Bet they respond.

Hon - you just gotta take care of yourself. Sounds to me like you should be in bed. What's with the doctor's office - are you kidding me? I don't know what I would do to her if I got that response - she better run very fast! Swallowing glass sounds like I felt with Strep. Anyway, I hope your day improves and you start feeling better. Cheers.

I'll try the nice thing, CR, but I dont know how well that will work with these guys. Theyre good kids, for the most part, but nothings more entertaining when youre bored than fighting with your sister and fight they do. Lynn, yeah I was pretty shocked myself, assholes! My first thought was strep but since my rapid strep test came back negative the doc thinks its viral. I have had a neg come back positive on the culture though so we will see. I honestly dont know what the hells up though because i have sores and irritation on my tongue, and ive never had that with strep before. First time ive been sick in two years, go big or go home i guess lol. Im just doing my best to try and stay optimistic and hopefully it will start getting better. Ill rest up this evening :-) Have a good day guys!

Are you needing the w/c van for the person to transport themselves? Just wondering because Cutty's w/c folded and only weighed 35lbs; I'd just put it in the back of the car for him. I'm not minimizing your needs - just giving you an option until the van becomes available.

Its for my sister, she is fourteen and completely non ambulatory. Up until now we have always picked her up and put her in the van, then loaded her wheelchair in the back but she is well over one hundred pounds and her chair is at least fifty. Our backs are killing us lol. Say a prayer for me, that this van is all we hope it is.

Keeping you all in my prayers Yo, and it sure sound like you have a combination there with your sore throat. I try to do what I can with my herbal and it may sound yucky, but here goes. Try to gargle with at least a tablespoon of salt in a juice glass of warm water. That will get you started. Then mix up this little cocktail of goodness....and take a tablespoon every hour or so till you start to feel better, Its got alot of anitviral and anitseptic properties, Its called Maggies Cough Remedy 1/4 tsp Cayene, 1/4 tsp ginger, 1 tbsp cider vinegar, 2 tbsp water and 1 tbsp honey. I have some mixed up and in the fridge. It works for me. Don't give to children under 3 because of the honey. I also found some elderberry wine in our walmart. Its from a local winery. That is keeping me bug free so far this winter. I drink at least 4 to 8 oz a night. Hope you can get that knocked down and gone soon. Love ya and get well soon!!
