Jenfar's Journal, 02 January 2014

So as promised I am going to log my stats on Tanita and measurements! Not proud of them after the all the festivities but a commitment is a commitment! Yesterday on New Year's Day i realised I did not even drink a single glass of water! it was coffees, green tea, wine and sherry! and it dawned on me when i went to bed and felt dehydrated! And no exercise for two days, so mia culpa all the way!

Tanita numbers:
Weight -> 61.8kg (ideal weight 51.83kg)
Fat -> 35.7%
Water -> 44.2%
Muscle Mass -> 37.7kg,
Visceral fat rating -> 2
Calorie intake -> 1213kj, 5076 kcals
Metabolic Age -> 49
Bone Mass -> 2.0 kg
Physique rating -> 7

Height -> 156cm, Age 50
Waist -> 69cm (target waist -> 59.6cm)
Hips -> 99cm (target hips -> 84.62cm - 91.18cm)
Shoulder circumference -> 100cm (target -> 96.42cm)
Chest -> 87cm
Wrist -> 15cm
Forearm -> 28cm
Tummy largest circumference -> 84cm
Maintenance calories -> 1600
Daily calories -> 1000

So you see I have quite a few goals to reach this year...the journey may take me longer cos i read someone who was 50 took 2 years to get to her ideal measurements. My metabolic rate has shot up from an Age 12 to Age 49 today which is just 1 year below my real age. That is quite a shocker cos it means i am not moving enough!

So now i am committing and will hopefully stay injury free! Will keep these stats posting every 2nd day of the month for the next 12 months! Bring on 2014! love you guys and gals!

Good morning - interesting on the Tanita. I am going to try and order mind today and a fitbit flex as well. After 50 my body TOTALLY changed. I could feel myself get physically weaker. The upside to that is now with regular exercise (almost every day) I can feel myself get physically stronger. I'm 55 now and when I was 45 I lost 100 pounds - and it was easy compared to now. Now, I only have to lose 20-30 and I have to workout 2Xs as hard - literally. Instead of 1 hour on the bike or treadmill I now go 2 hours (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening) I am also concentrating on low carbs, high protein and finally now that seems to be helping me. But holy crap, this time around is a challenge! Thank god for my FS buddies. Consistency is the key - keep it up - 2014 is your year!!!

I also took my measurements yesterday, but with an old fashion tape measure. I want a particular swimsuit this year and I am at the largest size they sell. My goal by April is to be down at least 2 sizes in that magazine to buy the swimsuit. I also was not happy with my numbers, but they were down from last year.

Keep monitoring the measurements with the old tape measure and write them down....every day....just in case you want to look back after an event or before that event...I have a drawer full of notebooks...when i am feeling i am not doing any progress i look back and find some very good days where the weighing scales was were i wanted it to be but my tape measurements were showing a high!(yes! it happens). I look at where i am now and even though the weighing scale is high my tape measurements are showing progress. So keep track of both! it will keep you focused....the weighing scales what passes through your mouth and the tape measurement on how you are burning it!
