MegSchap's Journal, 30 December 2013

I picked a really swell time to start a lifestyle change...NOT!!! I should never have started my journey right before the holidays. I did just awful.
I gained, then lost, then gained, then lost...I HATE this roller coaster ride!!!
Part of me thinks about giving up, but something inside me won't let me. So, here I am, struggling along, falling flat on my face, time after time after time.
If I could get myself to exercise, that might help, but there's no motivation there. Somewhere along life's way...I lost my spark...and am really trying to find it again.
Anyway...what a negative journal entry, huh? Sorry folks, but it just hasn't been a good holiday season for me and my weight loss goals.
183.2 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 53.2 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

It is tuff around the holidays. I did so awful too. I want to do a lifestyle change in the new year also. I also want to start exercising. You can do it!

On the bright side, you might have lost and gained, but if you had stayed off plan, then it might have been a really big gain. So you are a head of the game. With the exercise, you need to just suck it up and start doing something. Start with 30 minutes 3 times a week. Get yourself a new workout outfit. You can even start with walking outside 3x a week to start. Once you do something for a few weeks, it becomes a habit. If you live where it's cold, bundle up with layers. Focus on losing 10% of your current weight. It puts it in smaller increments and you would not believe how good it feels to just lose 10%. Start the day after new years. Get yourself excited about the new you. Find your motivation or use your determination.

Hey Meg - here's to a new you in 2014! I know you will find your motivation - and perhaps we can help you a little along the way. Keep talking to your buds here and very often you will find little bits of information and motivation that will help you along your way. I wish you and yours a wonderful New Year and a fantastic 2014. Cheers to you!
