Merry Christmas everyone, survived Christmas day lunch but am not logging in what i ate since i was not the cook. Stayed away from bread and butter basket, said no to after dinner liquer and mince pies and had fresh fruit salad instead - after 3 delicious portions i found out it had martini poured over it!I resisted the salted nuts and had a very small bite of cheese. Then Nanna's Christmas cake came out and she put 2 generous portions in front of me. I got the knife and cut it into 10 small pieces...and managed to eat 5/10 of the pieces! yes joking myself but had i left the slices whole i would have scoffed them in no time at all with coffee.... ah yes, i did not put sugar in my coffee. I know it's not much, but saying no to these things make me feel stronger and i report to myself and see that i am being more mindful of what is going through my mouth! oh, and i am using Giardiniera and olives out as niblles with drinks tonight....instead of salted nuts....i have to report my weigh in tomorrow!merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you as well. Its the little things that count. everything that you didn't eat, that you would have otherwise noshed on is a win! Its still life, we are going to have celebrations and holidays and weddings , etc. We splurge a little for a day and then get back to our plan the next day. That's the only way this can work. One can't be in a constant state of denial. It will ultimately lead to failure. Besides, I truly believe that our bodies shed fat more readily when we shake up our diet with a change of pace (and a few more calories) every now and again. That's my opinion, anyway. Happy New Year!

Very Good. It's all about discipline. We tend not to think of it that way when we're doing the things that aren't any good for us, but the discipline is still there, only in support of bad choices. We use it every day in all of our choices- good and bad. The trick, if you want to call it that, is to force the shift of bad choices into becoming good ones. And this begins with our determination to be better in our tomorrow's than we are in our today's. And that begins with deciding when to say when is plenty, even if it's nothing at all, and Grow Forward in our Goal. Congratulations on taking these first steps friend. It WILL ultimately pay dividends in better health, energy, lifestyle abilities and all manner of whatever is important to you. Keep it up...you'll be be glad ya did.
