Slow and steady... that's a good thing, right? Now I need to work harder at getting some exercise time in. I keep making excuses.. can't walk cause it's raining, though it's true, we've been getting too much of the liquid sunshine down here in the south. I know I should be atleast doing my stairstepper thingy but (another excuse) I am always so tired when I get in from work I just want to relax. My motivation is kinda off right now. Also with all the weight I'm carrying around it hurts to exercise. Is that another excuse?
I'm doing very good with my diet part. I, personally, think that alot of mind control goes into what you put in your mouth. I keep telling myself.. NO you don't need that, you can't have that, you want to get healthy, right? you wanna live, right? Another thing I've been doing is when I feel a bit hungry or just have those thoughts that I want to eat something because of emotional issues, habit or whatever, I grab a bottle of water, drink it all down and find something to do to get my mind off of it.

Slow and steady *does* win the race :] If you're too tired to work out, just try to do at least 10-20 minutes of something light. Every little bit counts! Never tell yourself that a 15 minute walk is not going to count as exercise. You can do this. Find that "oommpphhh" in you and go!

great strategies for watching what you eat! mind control - so true. As far as a little exercise - try this - break it into small chunks - hey, that stair-stepper thingy sounds a little intimidating - I would skirt right around it too - but mark on your "daily planner" ( a real one or the one in your head) 5 or 10 minute slots of time, 2 or three through the evening (more on a weekend), to "work out" and once you've mastered that, increase it. Less intimidating? Or even if it's raining, just go out for 5 or 10 minutes - very refreshing.

That's a good idea. I think I'll try that. You helped me come up with another idea. I have to walk thru my bedroom to get to the bathroom so I put the stairstepper thingy in the doorway. I made myself a rule.. every time I need to go, do atleast 5 steps. I'll do that for a week and then up it a little. Also I can start parking the furthest away from the bus (I'm a school bus driver) I can get so I can get some walking in. That would have me walking 4 times a day... may not be but a tenth of a mile all together but that's a start! Thank you both girlygirlatheart and dcwalker for the suggestions and ideas.

those are great ideas Rose! i bought a stair stepper thing a while ago and i would do it while i watched a tv show. Nothing strenuous...just up and down, up and down, for the duration of a show. Or i would move my arms up and down while sitting on the couch. It doesnt seem like much but it helps burn some calories and every little bit counts.
