kingkeld's Journal, 04 August 2013

Goodmorning!

It's late morning here in Denmark, it's 9:30 AM.

I'm at work at LOOP, the gym. This means that I can't do a lengthy journal, but I do feel that I need to check in, weigh in and report on how I did yesterday and what I'm gonna do onwards.

Looking back, and getting everything registered from yesterday, I do think I need to declare yesterday an Indulgence Day. :)

One of the reasons was a full bottle of wine that mercilessly attacked me and left me with no choice but to drink it.

The other, of course, was dinner. Dinner was great, and very reasonable. It was the whole roasted pig, salad and potato salad.

I skipped the bread entirely (except a tiny piece, very tiny), I was serious about picking lean meats, and had mostly regular salad and less potato salad.

I had a chance to talk to the chef, and concluded that the potato salad was very reasonable and probably around 80 calories per 100 grams. Still, I registered it at a much higher number of calories to not get a wrong picture of the day.

The damage? Well, about 3500 calories, as in a regular Indulgence Day. That's okay. I'll just have to do good this week.

The weight damage? Well, I was at 83 kilos this morning, so I am up 1½ kilo since yesterday.

I'm convinced that this is just a little fluid and the fact that I haven't #2'd for two days now. The amount of food I had yesterday was high, including two large smoothies, so it's gotta weigh me down some. That's ok.

The good news it that I did great avoiding salt. I asked the cook about salt on the roasted pig. He used NO salt. At all. He uses a "secret mix" of spices, but assured me that there was no salt. This meant I could have the pork rinds too - my favorite! I didn't have too much though, and took off most of the fat attached.

So, overall, it was a pretty damn good day. Good party, good people, good food, what more can you ask for?

...

So, today's dinner is leftovers that we got to take home. Again, SO thankful that there is no salt.

I will again register the potato salad as full blast fat potato salad, just to be safe, and only have a little, like 100-150 grams. Then I will go for lean meat again, and do a reasonable portion. It's no better or worse than any other normal meal I would eat on a day like today.

I had no breakfast, and didn't miss it, and lunch here at the gym will be a convenient protein heavy fruit smoothie. I have also planned to have another smoothie tonight, and a protein bar through the day. I am trying to go a little low on the calories today to compensate, but without compromising the protein. I think this will work for me.

...

I gotta say I feel so much better after I have started to eat a little more and have had focus on protein. I think it delays my weight loss mission, though, but I also find it worth it.

The trouble with that is - of course - the meeting with the surgeons this coming Friday.

All I can do is my best on that. I won't get to the weigh-in I wanted to, but I can get close enough to satisfy me! They are already satisfied so it's purely and ego thing for me. I want to deliver! :)

...

Anyways, I better get back to work. I'll do a more satisfactory journal tomorrow, I hope.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- A great party yesterday.
- A reasonable weigh-in, everything considered.
- Wife and Daughter.
- Sunday!
- Sunshine!
- Coffee!

Have a great day! Life is good!
