Back on track to reach my first target of 172lb by 17th Sept:-). But, according to my (6 year old) scales there has been absolurely no change in my bodyfat to water ratio (currently awful - 40:46). Does anyone know how accurate the scales are likely to be on this? - should I just ignore the readings? (which is what I always have done in the past).
175.2 lb Lost so far: 3.2 lb.    Still to go: 17.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Has your body shape changed with your weight loss - if so I don’t believe you can’t have lost fat - keep it up and perhaps take some measurements to help you visualize better.

I think sometimes we can over analyse ourselves. I weigh in a cheap set of scales once a week, I measure the same day and I have a skirt I am trying to get back into. Sometimes there are differences with all 3 and sometimes just one or two but that tells me I’m head in the right direction. Don’t overthink it xx

Thanks for all the support and comments. I am going to take your advice to go with how my body is shaping up and how my clothes fit rather than fret too much about what the scales say regarding my fat "content". I carry most of my fat around my middle - I know, very unhealthy - and I have definitely lost a little there. I have been avoiding the tape measure up to now - for some reason I find it even more scary than the scales - but I know I should gird my loins and start tracking my measurements too. Thanks for the push in the right direction.

The scale fluctuates just like the weather sunny one day and cloudy the next but if you are eating healthy and the tape measure is looking better go with that is a more true account of you progress! I agree don't overthink this!

Instead of a tape rule I cut a piece of string to measure my waist and then there’s nothing to be scared off it’s just a piece of string that gets looser! 😀

What a great idea, Kareneaon! I think I will try the string test.
