Naiomy's Journal, 12 November 2010

Up another 1.1... and i was prepared for that one.. really have sucked at my water intake this week.. been only able to get down about 64 oz a day and with all my water retention i really needed the extra 32 oz. Plus it seems my TOM wants to start a little early.. today makes it 4 days early..

Either way i've decided to change up my routine a little. Not b/c of the gain, but bc i'm ready for the change. So here's a little rough blueprint of what i plan to do.

Calories have been way too low during the week and probably way to high during the weekends (not tracking currently). So i plan to increase to at least 1K a day (for now).. and track more carefully on weekends.

Cutting out burgers, fried foods, and just overall anything that i really know should not be included in my diet. Things that make me feel gross.

Starting the C25K program again next week, continuing my monday weight training, and want to add back my dance party class on thursdays as well as sneaking in about 30 mins of weight training on that day.

Gotta push out that 96 oz!

So far that's what i've come up with... my body feels good though, my legs are getting some real definition, can even tell thru the swelling, lol... i'm a little bloated but still feel slim in the belly. Can't wait for the scale to catch up to how great i'm feeling ... :)..

i'm a well-oiled machine.. ha...haha..

Have a great weekend FS!

Ok maybe I misread your journal but do you mean you are only going to eat 1000 calories a day ???

i'm trying to not go below 1K a day.. i was keeping my calories low during the week b/c of having freer (if that's a word) weekends where i haven't tracked and knowingly have eaten more. Because they were so low i dont want to just jump straight into a higher calorie intake, so i was gonna start next week with not going below 1K, then go to 1200, then take it from there as i increase my work outs. i stayed low this month b/c i needed to "detox" from my month of debauchery lol

i know its low.. way too low... i just need to retrain my body to eat less for a time period... and now i'm ready to steadily increase my calories back to where they should be. and i knew of a few detox/cleanses that i was gonna do but they involve no food at all and i couldn't bring myself to do that... so this was as close as i was gonna get.

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan to change it up, I am glad you are planning to increase your calories as well being as you are upping your exercise and everything your body is gonna need that fuel!

thanks pixi... i knew i'd be upping my calories eventually.. i gave myself a month which was today.. and i knew my body woudl eventually reject me trying to keep the calories too low... so i'm ready to get some food in..lol..and have more control on my weekends..

yeah its time I take control of the weekend as well, I have not been tracking my food on the weekends and I am sure I have been eating way more than I need to. Good luck with the increase!

Be careful going so low with your calories. I've heard going below 1200 a day can slow down your metabolism and lead to weight-gain long-term. You may gain weight initially when increasing your calories, but you can re-train your metabolism to process larger amounts of food. Good luck!

@ awilker - i totally agree.. a lot is more tricking myself to feeling like my lowered calories is a lot of food.. its weird..lol.. now when i get to eating daily 1200 it will seem so satisfying b/c i've gotten accustomed to the lower calories. and i just really need to stop using my heavier weekends as an excuse to eat that much lower. And i want to fuel my workouts correctly.. and not sabotage myself.

I have also realized that when I lower my calories too much I gain weight and although it didn't make sense to me at first I do see now that the metabolism will slow down if my body thinks I don't want to feed it.
