Muscle soreness does cause a slight weight gain. The treatment is keep exercising (the blood flow soothes the pain) and application of anti-inflammatory gel. I am still at it!
185.2 lb Lost so far: 39.7 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
