Day 34 (Week 5): 10 TO 30 POUNDS BY November OR BUST

Good morning all you wonderful, health-minded lovely FS peoples!!!
Another GREAT day yesterday! No exercise, but I ate well and I am heading to the gym this morning!! Go me!!!!

So I may have sounded unsure of my challenges yesterday but I am truly focused on them today. They are totally doable and I am VERY excited. These last few months of the year are going to be one heck of a ride!!! Thank you for all your support now and to come!

Old Man Scale was amiable again this morning, despite not weighing in at my normal time of the morning due to going to the gym.

Regarding Daily Net Carb Counts, I think I will be downgrading to 150, but I don’t want to mess up my SB principles with too many parameters. It is working so far and I like tracking and for me it is more an awareness thing with both the carb counting AND the calorie count (neither of which is exact since I have to substitute a lot on the diet calendar.) I work well with small incremental goals. I am keeping in mind that there are no real “cheats” on SB concept (hence not beating myself over my really high cal days) but I need this site and it’s tools to keep my focus. I just want to be careful since SB is not meant to be tracked that way. So long as I am eating healthy and losing I am ecstatic, but I want to be aware of stuff as well. It’s one reason my profile does not say I am on SB diet even though it is my guide.

Floor Goal: 250
(13lbs down from the beginning of the challenge, 16.5 down from when I first started watching in August, and 3 from now.) So let me see let's readjust the goal to doing this by Oct. 6th.
Mid-range: 245 Weigh in at 245 for Thanksgiving with my folks, which is 18lbs from the beginning of the challenge. 21.5 from when I first started and 8 from now. I can probably get this done by Nov. 1st.
Ceiling goal: 235 by the 30th of November. I can SO do this. I have 2 months left :) 28 from challenge start, 18 from now and 31.5 from when I first started watching.
Christmas Challenge Goal:230 by December 25th!! 36.5 from when I first started watching!!

1st things first. Get myself to 250 (almost there!!!! WOW), then 245 then worry about the others!

Go Santa's Helpers!!

Go you! Way to get to the gym in the morning! I will refrain from carb talk, since I'm not in that club, but I'm happy for whatever works for you and everyone else! I know you will totally RULE with your challenges, and the holidays will be a time of celebrating your successes. Who needs New Year's Resolutions! We're already living our resolutions! :)

Update: I did NOT want to get up this morning. Itw as a good thing I wrote most of my journal last night LOL. Getting up was hard ad going was hard. I was soooo thankful I was carpooling with my boss for an exercize date or I don't know if I would have made it. Was much more low intensity on the treadmill at least heart rate wise. ( did manage to keep it in "fat burn" range most of te time but it took work and paying attention I kept wanting to slow down) I had to keep upping the incline and backinging the speed up and down because I was so tired. I DID do my thirty minutes but it was definitely a forced thing this morning. I am glad I went but phew! (did manage an abbreviated round on the weight machines....is conditioning the right category for them? does anyone know?)

It's SO nice to have an exercise pal to go with. Helps us all 'keep on keepin' on'! Good job for getting there! You did it and now you should feel so good about going :o)! Way to go!! I'm not a carb counter either, so I can't give any help in that form, but it sure is working for you. I can see your end goals being surpassed in the near future! You lost 16.5 # in such a short time...YOU ROCK GIRL!! Have a great day!!

I am not normally a carb counter, either but I joined the challenge and I think it might be good for me to be at least aware. after October I will likely not look much anymore, but I can't help but think that being aware is a good thing.

Hey, low intensity is better than no intensity! LOL Besides, you got me beat. I don't do my workouts until late afternoon. At least this way it's done and you can do whatever you want with the rest of your day.

hehe!! Well the free gym mebership ends Monday. But Mom is sending me the Wii Fit I accidently shipped ot her. Here's hoping my self discipline holds when the "work out" is at home.

My treadmill time yesterday seemed a little forced, too. Must have been something in the air. Awareness is a good thing! Once I looked into the whole carb thing, FOR ME it made more sense to just trade less healthy carbs for more healthy ones. Didja notice the big caps on FOR ME? I know everyone is different and has a different journey here, so that's why I don't usually get into debates about that stuff. What I do is working for me, but I wouldn't expect it to work for everyone!

Great job getting yourself to the gym. If you have any friends that go to the gym ask them if they offer free weeks for friends! I'm serious! I think a lot of gyms are having problems w/membership. Mine's offering a crazy low introductory fee and I received a free month for friends card! What state do you live? If it's a gym in your area, I'll send you the card. =)

lol I don't mind. I actually ut myself on the map we have in another forum. I live in Gaiensville VA and work in Chantilly VA. I really like this gym I went and got pricing today so we shall see. Not sure how to fit it in the budget....

Sorry, I don't think my gym is located in your state. If anyone lives in NYC, Westchester or Southwestern CT and wants a free month gym membership (expires last day of October) email me!
