Good morning, and Happy Friday to all!

I'm up a pound today, but it's okay. I know I did good yesterday - and the day before (more or less), and I know I am in a good calorie deficit.

I went to the gym today, but I didn't work out.

My shoulder is still aching, and I don't want to risk long-time damage that will put my out of the work-out game.

As I am typing this, I am on hold with my doctor, trying to set an appointment. I hope he can see me already today, but there is no guarantee for that. He's usually pretty quick, though.

Yesterday went pretty well. I stayed within RDI, but I did choose to have one of Wife's cookies, and I did a smoothie as a late night snack.

The smoothie was not just for me to have something sweet, but also to help me kill a severe burn from a total overkill of extremely hot chili that I put into my dinner. LOL. I'll NEVER learn this. I love chili, and I generally can't get enough of it, but this new sauce that I have is murder. It's a concentrate of the hottest chilis out there. For the nerds, it's got a heat index of 3,500,000 HSU. To compare, the normal jalapeño is approx 3-8,000 HSU. Obviously, you have to be VERY cautious with this, and I tend to forget. I'm reminding pretty quickly, though. LOL.

So, I am up in weight. I can't work out. This is no fun. Actually, I'm not TOO bothered with it, but I still want to stay focused. I know that even if I don't work out at all, I will still have a great calorie deficit, but I really don't want to spend weeks with no workouts now that I am finally in the habit of going there 4 times per week and seeing awesome results. I do NOT want to stop doing this.

Of course, I'll have to pay attention to what the doctor says. I have to make sure to not hurt myself doing this. It's a LOT better to not go for a week, than to be banned for three months or something. Muscle injuries can take a long time to heal.

I'm still gonna show up at the gym, as I did today, even if I don't to any work. I think it's a smart thing to do, to mentally still have the habit of going. It's so easy to just quit when you've been out for a while. I don't want that to happen.

I wish my doctor would pick up his damn phone by now.

...

Today, I'm practicing with The Black Peanut. We haven't played a couple of weeks, so I am looking forward to playing with them. It's always a nice evening, doing this.

Work today is easy. I have no interviews at all, and it's minor administrative work I have.

Also, I just got through to the doctor. I have an appointment in one hour. :)

let's see what he says.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- FRIDAY! I'm so looking forward to the weekend! :)
- A quick response from the doctor. I'm curious what he's gonna say.
- Rockin' out with The 'Nuts!

Life is good!

EDIT: I went to see the doctor, and he checked out my shoulder. He says it's a minor muscle strain, but there should be no reason to stop working out. Just go a little lighter on the machines that I feel hurt or strain doing. No amputation will be needed in any forseeable future. Yes. He actually said that. I like my doctor. Too bad he's retiring in May. :/

Hi Kingkeld, Just stopped in to say hi, thanks for your posts. It's very encouraging to read of your success. Maybe you gained that much muscle, wouldn't that be fantastic? I like to think it works that way, so, lets say you are up a pound of muscle :).

:( I would hate if my Doctor retired too. He delivered all my babies and has been my doctor for 11 years now. Plus I love a man with a sense of humor!

I'll bet your recent weight gain is all water from tempering that hot sauce you got mixed up with! From what I understand, it takes a ton of water to dilute that much heat. I can't decide whether I think you are really brave for trying that or maybe a touch crazy! lol

Sherillynn, I'd vote for crazy. Batsh*t crazy. This sauce is SO MUCH FUN!
