Meditation for the Empowerment of Peace of Mind. Feeling a bit off kilter I knew I needed to find my center. Nervous energy kept me up late and finally at 1 AM this morning I made time for meditation. Took about 15 minutes but slept very well until 7am this beautiful Sunday morning. Issues I need to find strength in is juggling financial matters, de-cluttering my home, making it the space that nurtures not burdens me and this coming Labor Day Weekend vacation planning for a long weekend of camping while remembering that "I am taking care of myself because I am worth the effort"!

The following text was written by Sue Patton Theole, Author of the Courage to Be Yourself.

Imagine Ourselves Strong.

I am strong and capable

I can do whatever I set my mind to

I am filled with strength and confidence

We all face situations in which we feel powerless and afraid. I once had a client who was terrified of an upcoming child custody hearing. She felt intimidated by the legal system, her lawyer, and especially her ex-husband. I asked her what it would take for her to feel safe and strong in the court room.

"Nothing short of riding in on a brahman bull" she answered jokingly. It was a great idea straight out of her inner wisdom.

I had her work with the image. She had fun creating the scenario of herself galloping into the court on a huge, snorting bull that threatened to gore anyone who tried to frighten her. Her day in court was a success because each time she felt the least bit scared she visualized herself astride her bull. With the help of her amusing but effective mental imagery she felt strong and capable. As a result, she was treated as if she were powerful someone not to be dismissed or manipulated.

As the story illustrates, we are all as strong as we imagine ourselves to be. When we act as if we are strong, we move towards become the powerful men and women we desire to be.

Having the courage to see ourselves as strong, capable, and wise, able to do what we need and want helps make it so. But we need not do it alone. We can move creatively through our fears by accepting support and guidance from an unseen helper, whether that is a higher power or a brahman bull.

Lisa you are worth it. I am glad you took the time to take care of you. Have a great Sunday. I was up pretty late myself last night or should I say this morning. I have not done anything yet today so I guess I am taking care of me today too.

Do you like to make lists, Lisa? I find they are incredibly helpful and "relaxing" when I have too many details spinning through my mind. Don't risk allowing other tasks to take precedence over your workout. You deserve to feel great!!! It may sound uncharitable, but you can work better when your tank is FULL (ie.,oxygen masks on planes philosophy). You've just finished a BIG project. You deserve to catch your breath. I call them my "crash and burn" days. Everyone in my family knows that I go on low gear the day after a huge event. Can you take the day off??? Delegate some of the things that need doing to others?? Give the rest up to God, Lisa. Do what you can, don't do what you can't. Get all that weight off your shoulders, okay?? Have a good Sunday, my friend.
