posterchild66's Journal, 18 January 2013

Up a tad today, must be the Mongolian. I am beginning to think that is the scourge of my existence. I believe I will skip it next week.

Finally got out and rode the bikes today. 22 miles or so. Rode through the "bad areas" and it still has very high police presence. I reckon we better not make that a habit. Will check miles next week to see if our safe route has the same distance.

Cant journal much today. Last nights dinner was healthy, did not snack, went to be early for riding.

Tentative plans for today include HUGE breakfast, and a roast beef dinner early before a few beers at the pub. It is indulgence/cheat day after all, and I just burned 1477 calories on the bike! FOOOOOD!

/Cheers, JP

If Mongolian BBQ is the thing that kills your weight loss journey, then you should consider an alternative to it. I know choices are limited for you, but still. That's what I did with the sugars (once again) and I see crazy results. I hope you will too. :)

You're so crazy, JP. God deal on the ride. Do the uniforms bother you much over there? What for? You make me want to ride so.

Heather, I am not sure what you mean by uniforms? Thobes? Police Uniforms or Military Uniforms? Now, I am used to this culture and getting settled in over here. I do feel konked out today from the past two days of riding.

I meant the high police presence that you referred to in your journal, totally forgetting about the military presence. Duh! Do you police bother cyclists?

Hehe, we have so many police here it is almost as bad as italy. There is Traffic, Ministry of Interior, Customs, and a few others in black cars that pretty much just wear military gear. I suppose it is not unlike the states with Highway Patrol, City Cops, County Cops, etc. No, they dont bother us much at all, I like to think they watch out for us, but one did pretty much run us off the road the other day. They ride in SUV's with 4 cops in them and heavy weapons, so I just pretty much let them do it.

That's good that they watch out for you. Sounds like a frightening image with the heavy weapons. Must take a while to get used to THAT!
