Wed is Kid day!

Yesterday was fun with the parents, even though they kicked my sister and I in cards. My parents' end of life paperwork & will is now in my possession, all notarized & ready to go. My sis sent me a message asking if I minded the responsibility and that she would step up if I didn't want to do it. I think she is feeling guilty because she is 6 years older. But I don't mind, I like paperwork and we are all on the same page, so no biggie.

E and I went out to dinner. No movie, because he wanted to go home and work. I skipped the soup, had only half of my fries and 2/3 of my wrap so I could have nachos too. All the calories are a guess since it is local diner. But I think I was right on point for a medium calorie day.

Tonight, E and I are going to DD's to have dinner and watch Infinity with her & her BF. They requested chinese. I have not decided what I want yet.

Thankful:
We are such a movie family. I am glad her BF seems to love movies too. He fits right in and he is not a douche like the last two. :-)

Goal for day:
Fit board on lunch, & already exercised. Enjoy my Iced coffee (so excited!!!) I always pick up coffees for us & the kids. Oh yeah, have fun with the fam. LOL My book is heating up and I have only a little over 150 pages left. 10 mins on the fit board is only about 20-30 pages. 50 mins of reading is plenty.

I can read for 30 mins before bed and finish the book tonight.
It is ok to delay an ending.
I would not finish it on lunch anyways.

I am going to have to repeat that mantra a lot. PLus, I can't finish before I get home because I don't have the next one with me. I won't be able to handle that.

Positive Thoughts:
The author I am reading is a much better writer now. Her first 8 books were just under eh. The next 8 were decent but still not devour worthy. The last 2....yummy. I have five more left then I get to reread a author I have been waiting on. So excited. Books Books Books! I am positive I love books! So, in less than 2 weeks, I should be knee deep in my next series. Yay!

I’m with you on books! I have too many and don’t have room for them all, even. And I’m weird in that I always open a new book and smell inside the pages. Forget that new car smell—I love to snort books, lol! I always wondered if anyone else does this; do you? 🤓👍🏻

I love to read. Went to using a kindle as I can adjust the font size and delay getting reading glasses. I also like that when I finish a book I can just get another one without leaving home.

I do sniff the pages sometimes, but what I really like is the sounds they make as you rearrange them. I have over 1100 books. I just love them. I made the den into a library. It has a fireplace and red walls. It's beautiful. I only use the phone kindle on short stories that my authors write in between their books. I would be too paranoid that the battery would run out while I am out and about to use one regularly. I do have back up books in my car and at work. I just want the next series book near me, especially when I am getting close. I left it at home deliberately, so I will do my fit board. I regret that now...what if there is traffic, or my car breaks down???? I am trying not to think of it. LOL

Hi Jessa, what is a "fit board" ? And, who are you reading?

I am reading Tami Hoag right now. Next is Spencer Quinn, and then I think Karin Slaughter, then Kelley armstrong. I think that is my rest of the year plan

I'm a big reader too. Last time I moved, I donated nearly half my books - over 500 lbs!

You stand on it and twist. I usually do 100 calories in 10 mins, according to my fitbit. I leave it at work so I don't sit down all day.

I need to read more. I prefer audio books. In the past I'd listen to them on long drives and I'd find myself slowing down to reach the end of the book before arriving at my destination. Yep, I was that woman creeping along at 30mph outside Austin so I could find out 'who dunnit'.

What do you guys like to read? I like "who done it?"s mostly, some fantasy, but always fiction. I donate the ones I won't read more than twice. The rest I re-read like its my job. :-)

Bella, I am in a parking lot finishing a book before I get to my destination or sneaking away at a party to find a quiet corner to read for a little while. I hate places w/o reading lamps. lol

jessabridge, I HIGHLY recommend Louise Penny! I predict you will "binge" read them once you start. Note* read them in order. Start with "Still Life."

I like Connelly audio's - esp the Bosch's (but hate the Prime TVs series - Welliver always looks like he's smelling something bad, LOL) Really enjoyed Don Winslow esp the Neal Carey series.

Bosch was smelling justice. He was always looking for it, reaching out, smelling for it....Roger that.

I love to read too! Right now I am in the first book of the Outlander series. I'm loving it! I also love the smell of a book, and I do the exact same thing, also I can't read on a kindle for some reason, my brain can't concentrate.

The Outlander books are some of my favorites, but I hated the series - neither the Jamie nor the Claire actors fit the parts at. all. I love the Bosch books too, but the title actor doesn't look at all like Harry. If you like Outlander, check out "The Shadow of the Moon" and "The Far Pavilions" by M.M. Kaye.

Mostly, I read nonfiction, biographies and history, but I like fiction, too, especially something light. I read Louise Penny and also Alexader McCall Smith's The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series. I loved Ron Chernow's Alexander Hamilton, the book the play Hamilton is based on. Also, his Washington, a Life; it really humanizes Washington.

@Laraee...book snorter here and present! When I started school, I was sad because I thought I wouldn't be able to read as much (I have read up to 80 books in one year). This fostered my love for audiobooks. I can "read" while driving or other tasks. When I have time, I will read along with a physical book...and do the bookworm sniff. My favorite genre is fantasy and historical fiction. But I read a lot of everything. Favorite authors: Laurie Forest, Lisa See, Amy Harmon, Katherine Arden.

I haven't read Chernow's GW bio, I need to check it out; his Hamilton book was great.

I love the goodreads social media site. A place for bookworms to unite!

@Jessa and Bella...I will take off work when I get to a good part in a book. Or, can be late if I am in the car listening to an audiobook. Will sit in work parking lot.
