posterchild66's Journal, 17 December 2012

Whoa, Up a lot from this weekend. Holy Holidays!

Had a good time though. Rode bikes real hard until the rains came. It is also cold. I honestly think our weight gain in wintertime is a natural response to the effects of the weather and cold. Instinct, biology, what have you.

Son is out of school for break, so I took them out to eat and ate junk food, then had cookies, then more snack later. It was basically a 3 day long cheat day this weekend for sure.

I read an article on how to fight off the weight gain this holiday season. It is real hard not to throw in the towel and say "I'll fix it in January!". It is real hard! But, I know the hard work that it took to get here.

So, I hope to continue my journey, albeit much harder over the holidays. I just hope I can keep cycling. This wind, rain, and temps in the 60's is just crazy! lol

Anyway, have a nice day y'all!

It's soooooo tempting to simply wait, isn't it? However, we all know what happens. Bad bad things. Let's at least try to do "okay".

I am trying to hang in there. Like some of your other buddies I have many party invites. I usually groan "Oh damn, another party", and I do it for the kids and family. I actually do it too. This week we have a party Friday, Monday (Xmas eve) and that is the extent of it. Usually our Christmas is a small private event at home, and this year should be the same. Hopefully with all the parties we can have our own party at the house.

We are in this together. I'm trying to eat what I know is good for me. Maybe a nibble of a cookie here and there but I'm not willing to gain just because it is a holiday. We want to continue to lose so we can be happy in January. Good luck to you! Keep up the great focus!
