Sandy701's Journal, 30 November 2012

Walked 3.1 miles, as usual. One dog along for all of it and the other along for just 2.3 miles. Bright, sunny day with temps in the low 60's and beginning to climb a bit. They're forecasting 75+ degrees for Sunday! And that will be December 2! Of course, whenever there's a swing way up, or down, in temps, the weather folks tend to overestimate!

I'll be working on holiday decorations today and then DH wants us to go to a Christmas concert tonight. I like Christmas music, don't get me wrong, but choral concerts just aren't my thing. As an excellent vocalist himself, however, vocal concerts ARE DH's thing, so off we'll go. Who knows....it could be great.

I had such a good time yesterday, esp. picking out "arts & crafts" for one of the angels on the Angel Tree. I love that stuff myself, so it was no bother at all for me to spend some time in an arts and crafts store. I know how I got started doing those things and even remember what I could handle as a 10- to 12-year-old. Nothing too childish, that's for sure!!!!

Well, off to put some lights on that tree....no breakfast for me until I get at least 2 strings up....that's the deal with myself. I'm getting hungry, so I'd better hop to it.

Thank you for reminding me of Christmas! I'm going to bring all the decorations out today. I probably won't do much more than that, since it's a work day...but the spirit of Christmas is between every word of your journal. Reading it has made my day brighter.

Deb, a news program said that this year Thanksgiving occurred on the earliest possible date, so the Christmas season is as long as it can ever get. The Angel Tree is just one of many holiday opportunities that I look forward to every year. Don't work too hard....enjoy the day.

As usual, I get your leftover weather! But am looking forward to a break from this cold. BTW - Your gift for your angel is very thoughtful. How is your tree coming?

Bren, I think ours is not much bigger than that, but it's up on a table. DH estimated the ceilings are 10', so we've got a lot of room to work with. This way, I don't have to worry about the dogs messing with it, but it is more difficult to trim because a lot of it needs to be done up on a ladder that needs to be moved around a lot. Hope you're feeling better today????

Hang in there, Buffy, the warmth is a-comin'! I did my 2 light strings before "breakfast" and am on my way to put up the rest (she says hopefully). Just so many other things trying to push their way up on my to-do list! LOL! How many hours now 'til your weekend???????

First off...I am just lovin' how the pounds are just woooshing off of you too, no small wonder after the exhausting day you must have had yesterday, (my feet hurt just thinking about all that running around & shopping, much prefer click & ship), & you still have energy to trim-a-tree today! Have fun tonight, no snoozing though!

Aw, c'mon....let me snooze! Like Buffy, I feel that these first couple pounds are just water and that the next handful will not come off so nicely. But, it's great while it lasts :)
