Goals are the best way attain a healthy weight and lifestyle and I am committed to it! I am consciously doing more now than I have in my life to live well and I'm getting results!

I now eat a plant based diet with occasional grain and meat. Dairy is no longer an option.

One month ago, my belly sat in my lap when I would sit. Now it's gone! In one month! I can hardly believe how easy it was!

All I did was eliminate the foods that were not nutritious from my diet! When I examine a snack or a meal, I now ask, what can this do to support my cells?

I also hiked up my water intake and enjoy raw foods such as nuts, fruits, salads and veggies. I have eliminated olive oil and will be adding coconut oil to my meal plans (thank you FullaBella!)

The more I study about things like the consumption of olive oil, the more I realize I bought into everything I was told by a high profit food industry whose agenda has nothing to do with health.

My exercise has been centered around my core. I do crunches mostly, and surprisingly they have become more and more fun to do. When I first began them, I couldn't even connect my brain with my gut muscles because they hadn't been used!

I have to get my cardio in gear. I get out of breath just thinking about it, but I know with continued daily effort, I can do it!

I am finding out what I like to do in life more now than ever. My weight was my constant enemy. Now it's my friend and it feels GREAT!!!!

If you read this bio and are so inclined, please feel free to add me as your buddy. I look forward every day to sharing and learning from everyone here! I love reading my buddies' journals.

Thank you for reading my bio.

Avoid Negativity
fatbiblelover wrote:
Hello Steph, I don't know you but what does it matter if people disagree with you? It doesn't mean you're wrong or they are right, or that they are wrong and you are right! It just means that you all have different opinions.

We live in a diverse world, and we all think differently, you are a person who is valued and loved by God. Any one else's opinion can't hurt you!

Great message and thoughtful post! Well done!

Avoid Negativity
Steph,

Just keep living well and know you're worth every moment you put into your own recovery. If someone wants to be negative, that pretty much sums up what they want to get out of being here. Go on and be successful and see if you care what they thought when you're achieving greatness!

A Better Life
We have many examples in society today of people who are not living their full potential.

Maybe they've fallen upon hard times due to the loss of a job, perhaps they suffer poor health or have lost a loved one.

Perhaps they have fallen prey to crime or have an addiction in one form or another. Perhaps at one time in their life they did something they thought unforgivable and so the scars of that undoing keeps them from achieving their true dreams.

Anyone can change for the better. We need to remind ourselves just how wonderful life is; in part, because we are witnesses and givers of love and acceptance.

Forgive and you will be forgiven.

Love deeply and abundantly.

Be grateful and give freely to others.

Laugh with your family and friends.

Be full of energy and try new things.

Be willing to truly hear and understand.

Have no desire to win or be right.

Ask clearly for what you need and know you are deserving.

Be gentle with yourself and all others.

Those who can not control themselves may not control you.

Be interested and interesting.

Be of service.

Speak with God as if He were right next to you.

Take time to think before you speak.

Treat your body as a temple.

Have a better life right now.

"Frickin' Nice!"

King--In the US I've often heard of this same thing, but we call it "paying it forward". There is actually a movie out there called by this same name that is really good. Often when someone does something nice for someone--IE: change a flat tire, etc. you will be offered something to pay for your time and strangers will say "no, I don't want anything, just pay it forward." Meaning--do something nice for someone else for absolutely no reason. I've heard some people paying for the person behind them in a drive through line at a fast food restaurant or a toll road, or parking garage. The person may or may not need the money, but by doing something nice for someone you don't know hopefully will cause the love spread to others.

Thank you for reminding me of this much loved film and the spirit in which you always have here on FS. You are so gentle and loveable.

I'd like to add a pay it forward that I was privileged to witness. Someone abandoned a frightened dog in the middle of a snowy night at a gas station / mini market out in the middle of nowhere. The dog wore a little bandana around his neck. He looked bewildered and worried. I saw a woman go into the store and come out with a sandwich to feed the dog. She tore it into tiny bites for him. She sat down on the icy cement with him and bonded while he ate. The next part made me cry. That dog finished his dinner and leaned his head right into her chest and she wrapped her arms around him. I cried those tranquil tears of fervor that I believe comes straight from God's heart to ours.

I knew that dog was with an angel and that he'd never have to worry again about where his owner was or where his next meal was coming from.

God bless the good stewards of living things.
