gramnbear's Journal, 16 June 2008

Over Father's Day weekend, I . . . uh . . . uh . . . conducted an experiment! Yes, that's it! An experiment! And I overwhelmingly proved that my body is unequivocally efficient at storing excess carbs when they are made available! Sadly, most everything I cooked over the weekend (and I am so "fecking" tired of cooking now!!!!!) was good stuff, with good complex carbs, just like always. But throw in a sugary dessert two days in a row, plus a sugary alcoholic beverage one night and . . . CHAOS! The rest is all for naught! Now, see here, I could avoid recording my weight to hide this from you, but I did not! The spikes in my graph will remind me forever and perhaps help me to make better choices in the future. I'm back on program with a vengeance today and also being very cautious in my relationships . . . because after carbs like that, I'm likely to be in tears for absolutely no reason by the end of today! Forewarned is forearmed!

I'm right with you there Sista on overdoing the carbs this weekend. Why does this have to be so hard? But we will overcome! Yes we will!!

I just think we all have to figure out how to diet specifically for ourselves, in which we can incorporate a little sinfulness into our choices every now and then. Perhaps, it would prevent the binges when the holidays roll around. Still, nobody n our family wants to do without the desserts and complex carb meals, so how can we figure out a way in which we can eat a little ourselves without such a high cost to our waistline?? Is there a full moon?? I have read the same type of journal from about 5 people so far today! Gramy, you have a great attitude about your gain, and I'm sure you'll get the extra pound right back off before you know it! You'll see!

There is a full moon! I agree that you have a wonderful attitude about the big picture and this little 'experiment' isn't going to hold you back at all. Thank-you so much for all of your supportive comments over the last while. I really appreciated your kindness.
