I feel like crap...I need to not eat the way I have been eating! I know that I'm not eating well and I blame myself. I also blame papers that I have been honestly writing nonstop, but I don't care anymore! Tomorrow, tomorrow is the new day! I go back to eating healthy and stop eating like crap tomorrow...I better enjoy the beer that I'm consuming tonight because it's going to be my last one for a couple of months!!! I also need to go back to working out since I haven't in a WEEK!!! *Sigh* I need some motivation!

Ok here is is.... Motivation is not always the key... The KEY is DETERMINATION. None of us have motivation because we rely on circumstaces and other people to give that to us... Determination however is what lies within us. No one can give you determination.. only you can stir up that gift inside!

I really do have determination, but motivation doesn't hurt...sometimes support from others helps too! But thanks for the insight! :)

It is so very hard to break free from our old eating habits and emotional triggers. But those habits are what got us to this point so they must be dealt with if we are ever going to achieve long term success. What we eat eat is only part of the equation. There's the Who, Where, When and Why still to be answered. That is why journalling helps so much, I think. Putting words down helps us make connections and revelations that we wouldn't see if the thoughts were just floating around in our heads. Don't lose heart. If you keep working at it, it will come. This journey is for life so you have all the time you need. You can do this :)

Some days we are more motivated than others...I just survived 3 down days, but I knew it'd pass - one meal at a time, one workout at a time, just go through the motions until it feels great and becomes habit. Even the simple realization that 'you are what you eat' and 'you feel as good as the stuff you put in your gas tank' is a great starting point. I'm getting terrible grad-school flashbacks by reading your profile :) It is a very stressful time of juggling papers, classes, teaching, research -- I cut down on my teaching and research in my last semester to focus on my thesis (and have time to cook natural foods and exercise everyday). Don't knock the beer! Getting together with friends and colleagues is a great way to blow off steam. You can do it!
