I MUST turn my head around. I MUST to rid of emotional eating. Is anyone has got a problem with emotional eating? How you are dealing with emotional eating? I know that it's my fault...only mine....😭😭😭😟

Hang on in there. Emotional eating is a short term fix that ultimately causes more problems long term. Don’t focus on your goal weight, focus on one pound at a time one day at time. Be real strict for a month, just one month of your life really 100% on it. Then after said month evaluate how you feel and how much you’ve lost. That one month (which you will take one day a time) could change your whole life. Be strong with yourself but never hate yourself if you have a bad day.

Take one day at a time, 🤗

I do suffer with emotional and bored eating. Calorie counting gives me a mini goal each day, if I don't go over my daily calorie allowance, it's a win for that day. Any exercise is an added bonus but I no longer reward myself with a snack 😂 if I do feel the need to snack and I know for certain I'm not hungry, I try and find things to do, even if it's just googling something random to keep my brain occupied! One thing I read to help with low moods was to watch comedies or funny videos on YouTube (dogs doing silly things does it for me, in stitches 🤣) but it realises the happy hormone an helps to make you feel better. I've become pretty big on self development the past couple of years due to a stint of depression (I had never suffered before and do not wish to ever suffer again) so I do like to read lots of self development books and it certainly changes tour outlook on life 😊

Hi Helena, yes I'm an emotional eater too and it got out of hand this year. I had a moment in a changing room where I could see myself in three way mirrors in my underwear and I suddenly thought 'you know what you've been eating your unhappiness for 8 months and now you're wearing it' - it was a sad moment seeing how much damage I'd inflicted on my own body but also spurred me on to start reclaiming myself back - hence using this app. You can do it, you're more than good enough and you do deserve to succeed - wishing you best luck and kindness to yourself xxx

hey there. offload onto the group. we will support you as much as we can. we have all had dark moments so you are not alone in where you currently find yourself. in a short amount of time you might have picked yourself up enough to offer your own words of encouragement to someone in a similar situation.

Hi there! I'm definitely an emotional eater as well and come from a long line of people with eating issues. The app really helps, keeping track of every bite you take gives you a nice sense of control, I think. To be completely honest with you, my previous attempts at dieting failed because I would be perfectly within my calorie goal until about 10pm when I would be overwhelmed with a need to stuff my face to feel better and subsequently feel terrible. The only thing that has helped me overcome this has been fasting. I recommend it because it really has become my best friend (instead of food, isn't that crazy?!). But that's only what fit best with the way I am. I recommend you read around and find a diet that fits YOU and will make you feel your best self. If you do decide to look into fasting please do but manage it in a controlled and healthy way. Dr. Fung has some good books on it, for example. Good luck darling! Every single day is a victory and I hope you feel much better.

No, thank you for being so open with your emotional eating. If people talked about it more maybe there would be less of it :)

It’s very hard to lose weight if you can’t exercise if you were still going to the gym I don’t know maybe they could suggest some upper body exercises to burn the fat a bit good luck

Oh bless you! I have struggled with emotional eating. It’s so hard isn’t it! I think the key is to adjust your mindset, rewards or comfort yourself in ways that are kinder to your body, such as self care stuff (whatever that means to you... for me it’s having a face pack or doing something creative). Try to love yourself regardless of your weight or behaviour.
