I am starting over again. I need a jump start again. It seems like I am not doing well at all, and I have been really keeping watch on my calorie intake and amounts. I don't know what else to do - why have I stalled this early in the game?

You have lost 13 lbs in one month. That's pretty amazing. Sometimes the body needs time to adjust to the changes and stays the same for a week. Keep eating healthy and exercising and you will probably see a change next week. If not, you might try to switch up your foods or exercise. Make sure you are eating enough to keep your metabolism burning. Keep up the great work!

Keep going! You can do it! I too am starting all over again this morning. I took a little time off and fell off the rice wagon...hee hee. I also heard that having 1 cheat day a week actually is good for us because it doesn't let our bodies reach that plateau and jump starts our metabolism all over again. The trainers on the show "The biggest Loser" recommend this. I thought it was a good idea to try it out. I am going to have Sundays be the day I cheat if I feel like it. I think looking for new recipes and trying new things and new excercises is key too, every time I start eating the same thing or doing the same thing over and over, that is when I get stuck and want to quit or I do quit. Let's make this time different!

I think you are right about the eating the same stuff over and over, and your body becomes accustomed to the routine. So, what I'm doing now is trying to eat different things, even if they are a little off the list - as long as they are a part of good nutrition. Like I found out that I mixed 1/4 C cooked barley with 1/4 C skim Ricotta with a sprinkle of nutmeg is similar to tapioca pudding. I do without sweetner, but I suppose you could also add a sweetner. And one time I added 1/4 C mandarin oranges to it. Boy was it good for a change of pace. It made a nice lunch. But I really do intend on keeping on, I do not want to quit because I've come this far. I know it will be even better when spring gets here (if it ever does) so I can spend more time outdoors. I am an outdoors person and being cooped up makes me feel like I'm in hibernation. I also just thought I would try some other low cal foods to take place of all the rice - eg. Quaker rice cakes. They are low in calories (45-50) and sodium. Nice for a change of pace. And I saw a recipe where you take the rice cakes and put a Tsp. or two of tomato sauce on top with a sprinkle of Italian seasoning or oregano and basil and a 1/2 Tlb. of shredded mozz. cheese on top of that with a veg. or something you like on top of that and heat it to melt the cheese makes a substitute pizza and I guess kids love this stuff. I'm trying that tomorrow. So different it is.
