Earthlady's Journal, 02 March 2012

I'm having a really good day so far and I have about 300 calories in hand in case I fancy a snack later this evening (I probably will, on recent form!)

My weigh-in this morning was 58.1, the same as yesterday, and even if it doesn't go down any more for weekly weigh-in tomorrow, it will still have been a pretty good week and I'm getting myself back on track and back into the groove.

I have a weekend alone this weekend - husband has taken the girls skiing and snowboarding for the weekend, whish is absolutely not my thing. Give me sunshine and warmth and water to swim in any day! I'm really glad too that he's taking time to spend time with his girls cos he's such a workaholic, they don't often get quality fun time together. I hope they have a blast and I won't feel guilty about enjoying a weekend of peace and quiet!

I'm hoping to get ahead at last with studying - I stayed a bit late at school tonight and did the bulk of my planning and prep for the coming week. That was a really good move because it tends to drag out more timewise when I do it at home over the weekend.

Also I've booked myself a "playdate" with a lovely lady (and close friend) who is a creativity consultant and catalyst. I'll take a break on Saturday afternoon and join her and others on a video conference call where we'll all be encouraged to let our imaginations go and paint or draw or make something (hopefully) beautiful - I am so looking forward to that.

We saw some sunshine and had a little warmth today after another week of freezing temperatures - I love how the sun has such a positive effect on my outlook, I just wish the opposite weren't true. Cloudy, grey, rainy or cold weather don't help my mood and motivation at all.

Still, as the one and only FS Kingkeld always says, "Life is good" - it sure is.

That conference sounds right up my ally! I hope you feel inspired and creative. I too fall victim to the gloom of grey skies. I take vitamin D daily to help. I recently bought my Dad the "happy light" It's intended to mimic sunshine and help those who suffer from SAD (seasonal affective disorder). I'm still waiting to hear if it works though. I've read that looking at pictures of sun and blue skies can help. Enjoy your quiet weekend. :)

Yes Lindsay, I'm taking vitamin D. You can check out my friend's website at creativecompasscoach.com - I think you'll love it!
