MrsTofu's Journal, 19 September 2011

So I was right, there was quite a weight gain: almost 7 lbs due to bad eating and overeating. I am going to try and get back on the wagon. I am starting by recording my food, which I had lost track of doing for the past several days. I weighed in to stay accountable even though I am not happy with the results. It's not the scale's fault, I just sometimes get annoyed at it for reminding me of my own poor judgment and lack of self control. I am trying to keep a positive attitude though. I figure that I will have a weight drop at my next weigh in if I can get back on track now. Also, if I get back into drinking more water and doing more exercise it should be more substantial.

One of my challenges has a mini challenge about saying something positive about myself everyday, so for today my positive thought is that I am sincere. I take pride in that knowledge because integrity is something I highly value. I feel somewhat silly saying something like that because it seems kind of snobbish, but I know I need to be able to acknowledge my good qualities instead of merely focusing on the "defects" I see more readily.

Thanks Dawn! I am trying to remind myself of just that. I am actually looking forward to my next weigh in as a chance to redeem this past weekend.

The important thing is to record what you eat, and stay committed to your health. This isn't just about taking weight off but about getting and staying healthy for life.
