billtech66's Journal, 25 January 2016

I am enjoying the weight training at 24 hour fitness, getting back into it.
I've been lifting or exercising for most of my life, but seriously since 1984.
the last year or so just doing mainly calisthenics, which works very good for toning and muscle definition, however it limits muscle mass, since the weight is about the same all the time.
Using all the varied equipment at 24 Hour fitness allows much better and steady increase in muscle mass, only limited by genetic ability. :)
Just have to GO there. :)
Calisthenics just requires a floor or some chinning bars. and it's right at home :)
I don't want to bulk up too much though, I like being lean!
Too much muscle is not good for my 72 year old bones and ligaments. Gravity, you know?
But lifting properly helps strengthen those as well, and allows everything to align properly (well balanced lifting, along with proper form and posture, which carries over to everyday standing, sitting, walking & lifting)
so, I'm happy. :)
