Quick update and then moving on to the next, and last phase (hopefully!) of this weight loss journey before the life-long process of maintainance starts.

My bet with Lisa ended with a bit of a whimper and my up-and-down process settling in at a net 2 pd loss...she lost 7 pds, and hence, a grand winner of the 200 dollars. Hats off to a dedicated and tough competitor!! We can all learn from Lisa's dedication in sticking to a plan no matter what temptations arise around one...I wasn't as consistent in my efforts and gave in several times to temptations of foods at events..but overall did much better than I normally do..and monitored what I ate and how much I worked out..indeed, last week I worked out every single day and attended all my gym classes!! So, overall, I feel proud of myself at trying to live my life and have fun and yet attempt to lose weight..I just ended up doing a little more living and a little less losing..but it's all good!

Speaking of classes, they are going well..and I'm especially loving Zumba and tai chi. I also do yoga, rock bottom, upper strength training, abs, spinning, belly dancing, aqua aerobics, learning to swim, just finished 3 sessions of self-defence. I am getting better at each and really enjoying the feeling that I can keep up throughout the class and when I'm doing the dance moves, I like how I look in the mirror and what forms appear to be flattering and that I don't look like a dork unlike what I'd feared!! What a long way I've already come!! I look forward to continuing these through the semester..I have tried to stick to the schedule and show up to most of these no matter if they are in the middle of the day and I have to change in and out of work clothes and gym clothes in between my teaching and meetings etc..my absenteeism has been quite less, and I'm proud of that. I want to seriously up the ante next week and go back to running and the full strength training on at least 3 days.

Tonight I did really poorly at dinner and had all sorts of carbs (garlic bread, corn bread, chilli, chick pea curry, cake, wine etc). Earlier I had a banana nut muffin. Last two days have been bad with chinese food and brown rice, goldfish crackers and pringles.

Enough disaster. Back to the diet tomorrow. Want to stick to the 14 days of atkins and see what happens.

New goal is to lose 10 pounds in October!!!!! I can't wait to see 120s!!!! Last 10 pounds to go!!!!

Your exercise classes sound like so much fun! I want to check out a Zumba class... I've seen some advertised around here. Looking forward to seeing your 10 lb loss in October! :)
