gilliansings's Journal, 27 July 2014

I'm back from a short hiatus. I worked on Friday and then went to my daughter's house until Saturday night, spending time with her and my grandsons. It was really nice.

Next week I will have both boys for most of the weekend. I know it will be exhausting, especially since my husband works the entire weekend (as does my SIL), but since I'm in countdown mode to their move out-of-state, I'm just grabbing every chance to enjoy this special time. My daughter is getting a first ever (since becoming a mom) getaway with her high school girlfriends. She deserves it, but I know from experience how much work it is to prepare to leave your kids, lol. She'll be exhausted before she even leaves.

So, with the above being said...I have to take it easy this week in terms of exercise for two reasons. The first being this strange, weird, ongoing neck impingement. The second being how hard on my body NEXT weekend is going to be. So, I'm not going to stress or worry about weight loss for this next week. I won't change my eating habits and I'll still log my food (except for this past and next weekend), but I won't expect the scale to move. That way, if it does it will be a happy surprise.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend.

We're going through similar life changes, aren't we, my sweet friend, with our children moving away? Hope your daughters move goes smoothly & you find healthy ways to deal with the emotions… and that I can follow your lead! xoxox

No one is in the lead, my friend! We are each other's support. And yes, I too need to find healthy ways to deal with the emotions. It really makes me wish that a friend or two had stuck by my side through the years of pain and back issues so they'd be here for me now. I keep trying to rekindle those friendships, putting my pride on the backburner, but all to no avail. You can't make people want to put in the work to keeping up friendships. My daughter is my BFF, and now she's moving away :-( For all that people complain about the negatives of this new "social media" world, I love that it helps me through the bad times, having "virtual" friends that help me get through.
