dra1018's Journal, 30 April 2014

I was surprised to see my weight go down. So last two days I've avoided gluten, dairy & soy. Sugar - i've had a banana & apple and dark chocolate (although it has low sugar). I've been sticking to walking and drinking more water. Feeling better. I wonder what it would take to get rid of my gut. I had dinner at 5pm yesterday and went to bed a little bit hungry. I had a good dinner with salmon & swiss chard. I think it's ok to be a little hungry.

Have you tried weight lifting? I had a belly for years, no matter how light I was. Now I am a bit heavier but I have a flat tummy :)

I have in the past. Now I'm just lazy. I was doing push ups. I need to get on a regimen. I just don't like going to the gym. What do you do for weights?

I'm sure my weight gain was related to dairy....I still enjoy drinking chocolate milk, but perhaps I need to switch it to the morning instead of my evening snack. Sugar was alot. But I had run on the elliptical so I didn't feel super guilty. Just didn't like my being up 2.8 lbs this morning. I felt lighter/more toned than yesterday....guess these are the growing pains of going in the right direction.

I recommend the stronglift 5x5 as well but I would throw in a few extra exercises if you are new to lifting, as squat and deadlift both take time to master the technique (he shows you how in the lift) Eating dinner at 5pm may be a little early, most people say not to eat past that point but keep in mind you would be starving your body for nearly 14 hours assuming you wake up at the beginning of the day at 7am. Doing this will deff make you lose weight, though you may be keeping some fat on from fasting from food/water for 14 hours.
