Annabelle3117's Journal, 25 April 2014

Good morning everyone!! I'm one fake weigh-in down :-) I'm sure that I've lost at least fifty pounds by now, and am officially at goal lol wink wink, nudge nudge. Fitting in to formerly tight clothes is my prize for a weeks worth of hard work, and I'll take it any day.

My 'off' day didn't go as planned yesterday. I ended up changing the plan for an hour long walk. Can't keep a good dog down. Feeling better today than I have been throughout the week, so that's always good. Maybe because it's Friday, and after tonight I can hunker down in a bubble with my husband and son, and pretend the rest of the world doesn't exist. My only plan for the weekend is to take my wedding rings up to be inspected, and send mine off to be resized... again! I just had it resized down a whole size and a half six months ago, and now it's falling off again whenever I wave my hand dramatically. So I started with a 9 1/2 ring, heading down to a 7. One thing I never contemplated when I started this process was new skinny fingers.

Of course I will still be aiming for my one hour of intentional exercise, and logging all of my foods for the weekend. So far my calorie burns have been pretty high per my armband, averaging a 2800cal burn/day. Which means I get to eat upwards of 1800 cal/day lol. Yum Yum. Every four or five days I recalculate my burn averages and adjust my calorie intake range accordingly. Look at me, all sciencey and stuff.

On the agenda today Is a vet appointment to get Copper's thyroid tests done. It will be about a week waiting for results, but I'm looking forward to taking the big guy on a car ride. He is such a wonderful dog to take places. He doesn't give a eff about other dogs or people. So while other dogs are acting like maniacs he is as cool as a cucumber, looking all handsome and stuff. Now that I've discovered how to share images in journals I think I'll share a pic of him, and likewise a pic of my Hoss (short for hossolophagus) Poor dog has a crazy lady for an owner lmao.

I'm also going to do some speed grocery shopping, and get to the gym for a power hour workout. My daughter's father will be picking her up this evening, so it's going to be a quiet evening. The kids are always so lost without each other to fight with lol. Well I think that's about it for today, I'll leave you with a couple happy thoughts, and pictures of my beloved dogs.

Have a wonderful Friday!!

Good morning, friend -- Yeah, I'm going for IMAGE 2! I'm sure I've met my goal weight and can go buy the "victory" dress...r--g-h-t. (Well, a girl can dream can't she!?!?) Anywho, will not be logging on to FatSecret much today. The status bar is screaming WeighInNow and it's 'vewy, vewy' tempting ;)

You hit your goal too!!! So did I. NOT. And haven't been on the scale either. Did roll out of bed and went straight for the linen closet where I hide the beast then did a 180 remembering I couldn't do it. Old habit. Hoping to walk today in between hanging out laundry and other chores. Hoss is what type dog? Chocolate... lab, chessie, golden mix. Beauty. I am partial to chocolate dogs. ;~)

You are such an inspiration!

Dramatically waiving hand, Lol. Do you do that a lot? Another non-scale victory (NSV), congrats on the new ring size. And yes image #2 for me is the ultimate (I need to tap into my "badass" potential). Lovely dogs by the way and just from the pic alone it appears that they have two very distinctive personalities. I’m off to do my fake weigh-in as well. Have a great weekend.

Happy for you Yolanda. I don't mean to sound stupid but what is a fake weigh-in?

Thanks all, Hoss is a boarder collie mix, and although he looks small in the picture he tips the scale at sixty pounds. All muscle. No chica, I don't often dramatically wave my hand, but when I do gold and diamonds go flying lol. Thank you Deborah! Don't feel stupid :-) I started a challenge to stop weighing in for six weeks, so a fake weigh in is just weighing in at the same weight every week to shut up the reminder at the top of the screen lol

Yolanda, what a great post! My dogs have very different personalities as well. Yay for your "No weigh in" challenge. It's going to be amazing when you finally get to weigh in. I can't believe you sidelined your "off" day and went walking anyway! That is so awesome. I am at the other end of that spectrum. After a couple months of amazing ability to exercise almost 7 days a week without major back pain and numbness issues, I'm back to my body's "normal." Weird, but I exercised LESS this week and ate slightly higher caloric average and I lost MORE. So weird. Have a great weekend!

Hi Yolanda, I am super glad that I came across your post. How did you come up with how many calories to burn and how many to eat? I need all the help I can get. Thanks in advance

This site will help you with that. Click where it is talking about your RDI and it will ask you a few questions then it will give you a calorie amount you should do in order to which your goal. Then click on the exercise tap and type in what you do and it will tell you how many calories you will burn based on the info you give it.

ayot6, a fairly standard complaint here is that the FatSecret RDI number tends to be overly high. Many people use this site to calculate their RDI: http://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html I've checked that site and a number of others. Everything seems to be right in the same range. FatSecret though shows the RDI at almost 250 cal higher! You can change your RDI in the "My Diet" section.

Aww. good looking Cooper and Hoss. I saw you were taking him in for thryroid test, is HE overweight? We have a kennel and I see lots of dogs go thru that, and they really didn't need it. What food and how much does he get a day? The reason I ask is, we see so many dogs that just get too much food. Yeap, just like us...lol. I feed my Goldendoodle only 2 cups of Natural Balance a day, that's it, perfect measuring cups. He's my "house play dog" so he runs a lot at 8.5 yo, and no treats. He's been eating 2 c. for a few years. My new little 41 & 45 lb bullies eat 3c & 2.5 c a day. So it all depends, just like us.
