Good Evening, FS Warriors! This is actually my second attempt at making an entry tonight. I had typed quite an extensive entry, only to have it disappear. I guess I got overconfident; it hadn't happened for so long that I had forgotten how easily it just goes away. Anyway, I got so pi$$ed that I put the laptop away, cooled off a bit, and went and got it again for another try. Yesterday, I took a rest day from running, as planned. I took advantage of a beautiful day to fire up all the tractors, mowers, and motorcycles - except one contrary Sportster which aparently has a bad battery, and wouldn't take a charge no way, no how. Mowed the schoolyard and the church yard. Of course, I had to take the bikes up the road and back just to make sure they still worked OK. This morning it was a different story. Another beautiful day. Got up for my run at 6:30 this morning. Only 39F, but the sun was shining, and it felt like it was much warmer. The plan was only to run 2.0 miles and that's basically what I did. I wore the GPS watch and the Nike+ Sportsband, and I was glad I wore both; the Sportsband only recorded my HR, no distance and no pace. Ughh, that thing is starting to pi$$ me off. The run was pretty good. The GPS said that my pace fluctuated between 4.0 mph and 6.5 mph; I guess the gazelle in me just keeps wanting to break loose. :D Actually, I was trying to keep my HR in the training zone, so I would back off when the HR started to climb, and speed up when it was dropping off. All in all, it was a good run.
We've got the Easter sunrise service early in the morning. I'm supposed to run a couple miles tomorrow, but I'm not going to get up early enough to run before the service, so I plan to run sometime tomorrow afternoon. I'm planning on running a 5K race on May 24th, and I've got a training schedule planned right down to the day of the race. My plan is just to finish the race running. That will give me a baseline from which to judge all future races. I think it's a little optimistic to think that I can pull off a 5K at less than 40 minutes at this point; I'd like to run faster; we'll just have to see how I do over the next month.
Well, don't want to bore you all with my rhetorical ramblings, but if you're reading this, you weren't doing anything important anyway. LOL! Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter with families, and if you're not having Easter with family, come on here; there's always someone who's wanting a little company. Have a great evening, and a better tomorrow! Toodles!
