Good Morning, FS Warriors! 42F degrees and sunny, no wait, it wasn't sunny at all at 4:30 this morning. It was dark! Still warmer than yesterday morning though. Today, for the 1st time since I started this journey in February, I stepped it up a notch in my running. I wouldn't exactly call it HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), but I did run pretty well almost all-out for about a minute, four or five times, returning to a jog and letting my HR settle back down below 140 BPM before repeating the tortue. It actually felt pretty good. It kind of sucked that the Nike+ Sportband doesn't adeuqately log the difference between the high intensity pace and the easy pace. I guess they've changed the algorithm in the software that smooths out the transitions a lot more than it used to. Probably why they've discontinued the Sportband. It did plot the HR nicely, showing that I was hitting around 162'ish BPM. I must be getting in better shape because it's getting harder and harder to get a real high HR when I expend more energy. I was hoping to hit 180 or more, but I guess I would have had to push myself a lot harder. I'll definitely use the GPS watch the next time I do HIIT's; it logs the pace differences musch better. Tomorrow is a rest day on my plan, so I won't be doing any running tomorrow morning. I may work the squeaks out of the elliptical, or go on a bike ride though.

I didn't lose any weight since last weigh-in, but I didn't gain any either, which is a good thing, considering what a bad boy I was this week. We are actually supposed to have good weather the whole weekend, and since tomorrow is Good Friday, it's a long one.

This weekend, Christians around the world celebrate the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Because He lives, my whole life changed. It's hard to stay down or be depressed when your best friend walks on water. Even diet and exercise are easier when you know you're not in it alone. Well, My Friends, I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend, and pause to reflect on the significance of it. Toodles!

Okay today is the day - you and a few other of my buddies have inspired me so much that I have to get my butt in gear and keep up with you all. I don't have any friends, family or neighbors that will get me going but you have! I feel very blessed that you choose to share your journey with us every day! Happy Easter!
