It's been coming off slower, but that's ok. It is that time of the month so I figured I would either gain or not lose weight as that always happens. Tomorrow I will start a week on the less strict version of this diet. I guess it will be more like the maintenance part of it. I will be able to have some candy on Easter and some drinks at my friend's party next week. Who knows? Maybe I will even continue to lose weight now that my metabolism is supposedly a bit healthier? We shall see. I have decided that healthy eating is just a new way of life at this point. This diet is giving me some structure that will make it easier for me stick by. But eventually I will be on my own, no set "rules." I was discussing this with my significant other last night. He was like, I guess I would like to see you eating without all of those imposed rules. When I thought about it, I said "Well, you have a ton of rules about food that you eat, you just don't think about them in the same way as I do." I guess it's all about perspective. If I feel in my head that I am missing out in some way, eventually I will let whatever that food is back in. Yet if I decide on some deeper level that I will not eat those foods because I am truly better off without them and do not let them have any power over me, I will be more likely to avoid those foods in the future. Trying to change your relationship with food is not easy, it is definitely a work in progress. A battle with the mind. But I can do this! I need to... my body wants to be healthy.
