Lots to talk about today!
I had a pretty darn good weekend. Saturday the wife and I fished in our bass club tournament. We got second place and burned a ton of calories fishing the wind and waves all day. I rewarded myself with a big tex mex dinner and a beer. It was delicious and I ate everything on the plate plus chips and salsa. The meal was a whopping 1770 calories and 149 net carbs but I still ended the day with a 935 calorie deficit. I ate well the rest of the weekend and weighed 171.0 this morning and noticed that my “love handles” are disappearing.
I wanted to mow the lawn on Sunday but it started raining. Instead I got on the treadmill for 40 minutes so I could eat a little bit more and have some wine. I love how that works!!
My workout went well this morning. I went up with the weight on 3 exercises and completed all the sets. I ate grapes (1/2 cup total) before, during and after my workout. I am really feeling much better with the additional carbs I added to my diet. I bought a bunch of frozen fruit and some steel cut oats to add to my diet when I need to hit my macros. I am finding it a little hard to hit 60 net carbs daily after only eating 30g daily for the past 7 months. I will get it all figured out though.
Best of all, I am really excited that my wife, who has been “kind of” doing the diet with me since I started it, decided to fully jump onboard. She downloaded the FS app and I spent the weekend boring her with diet talk, macros, calorie deficits and so forth. I spent a good amount of time showing her how the FS app works. She seems super motivated this time. I am really proud of her for taking this step since I have been bugging her to sign up with FS for a long time. She seems pretty excited about things since she already lost 4 pounds since Friday. When we first started the diet together she lost about 20 pounds the first few months then stalled for 4 months, losing and gaining the same 5 or 6 pounds. Her user name is lunkerleslie (a “lunker” is a big bass, BTW) but she probably will not be journaling or using the website since she mainly just wants to track exercise and food. Maybe if she gets a bunch of buddy requests she might be motivated to check out the site!!
