Have been on track once again for ONE WHOLE WEEK. Have not done that for a while and this time hope to continue. Could anyone tell me if it is alright to have one piece of fruit and one small yoghurt after dinner at about 10p.m. as this is a time when I need something sweet. I find it hard to stop eating after dinner and save this till the end of the day. Would appreciate comments.

I have read we should not eat after 8:00pm, (I have been known to do that though) so if this is a time that you need something to eat, then eat it. Everyone has different schedules. You might want to eat the fruit and yogurt a couple hours before you go to bed so it settles.

I've read and heard the same thing about not eating after a certain time at night. I really think it doesn't matter all that much. Calories are calories. It's just that we tend to graze and snack on insubstantial types of foods later at night, in my opinion, and therein lays the problem. A yogurt and a piece of fruit sounds like a healthy snack so, if it keeps you from reaching for less healthy fare, why not allow yourself the treat? And, by the way, congrats on a WHOLE WEEK of staying on track!

Thanks for your comments about eating after dinner. I guess I have eaten a lot worse than a piece of fruit and yoghurt in the past so this should not slow my weight loss down too much.

Speaking from my own experience, I have snacks in the evening after dinner, and I've still been losing steadily. Just make them light, healthy snacks. Unless the snack leads to a binge, I don't see anything wrong with it. Great job on the WEEK OF SUCCESS!!
