Up early with DS as he has to drive to a client's this morning in MA. He seems to be doing well at work -- this is first client visit he's been sent on & they're sending him alone. He's working part-time at a neighbor's IT company & all we've heard are glowing reports :). School also seems to be going well for him, so hopefully the move home & change in school and major was the right decision, but with him, I'll never be sure until that report card comes out! And he has a new girlfriend who it sounds like we'll finally get to meet, possibly for dinner Fri night. They've been dating about 1 1/2 months. This DS, my oldest, has had girlfriends on & off since middle school, but its my youngest who seems to struggle in that area, having dated several girls but never for more than a few dates. I just don't want him to give up on love... ah, the romantic in me!

I'm off to workout this morning & then have an OSHA meeting this afternoon -- I have no idea what I'm in for there, but covering it for BIL who while doing well since his return from rehab (he's going to meetings, and has a sponsor & a therapist), seemed anxious about the meeting. I can go in as the newbie taking over that aspect of the business & hopefully get some brownie points that way?!? Wish me luck!

I'm feeling good & ready to tackle another fasting (500 calorie) day today, but before I do, I'll pray --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And throughout this one day and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm grateful today for each of you, my family & IRL friends, that oldest son seems to be happy & finding his way, for my upcoming retreat and having the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

Hi Ruth, good luck at the meeting and hope that being the newbie in the project will indeed earn you brownie points and some lee way if there is any murky water anywhere, so to speak. Hope BIL continues to do well, it's a rocky, uneven road - rehab. And to meet DS girlfriend - exciting. I haven't had to do much of that, my DD has only really had the one boyfriend. So like her dad she is (boy that sounded like Yoda :) Enjoy your day being your fabulous self. So glad the the 5:2 is working so well for you. Enjoy DH's return home, I am sure he missed you and his home comforts.

Good Luck with the OSHA visit, hope you get a good auditor. I always feel better after I meet the person my daughter is dating. My youngest also has a new boyfriend that she has been seeing about a month. I told her I would like to meet him so I could pick him out of a line up (Ha Ha). But she's 23 so I don't push it. I guess we never stop worrying about our kids and hoping for their happiness. Hope your day goes well.
