*Starshine*'s Journal, 22 October 2013

Wilfully ate way beyond my diet today, for the first time since April. Had a 4-hour train journey and, nearly missing my connection, didn't have time to buy the right food for the journey. So I decided instead just to let go for a few hours. A ham and cheese sandwich (381 cals!) and muffin (430 cals!) on the way and then, on arrival, my first fish and chips in six months (mega cals!). Daily total of just under 2,500 cals, about double my usual, and this on a muscle-resting, low exercise day too. I feel a bit bad about it but, then again, I've stuck to my eating plan religiously and every day for so long. And tomorrow's another day and another run. I reckon that releasing my grip -- just occasionally and briefly -- is probably quite good, psychologically. Though this is the day before my weekly weigh-in, too, so it's entirely possible I won't feel quite so sage about my blow-out tomorrow!

One day does not a week make. You will likely show a jump from the sodium but don't panic. As dedicated as you are with your intake and portions I predict you'll feel less hungry tomorrow and all will even out.

Thanks, Bella, and you were right, of course. I was less hungry today and my week's weight loss was still almost 2 lbs, which I'm more than happy with.
