The girls went back to school today. Im actually glad because I like the routine of things. However, I am struggling with this time of year, and my wanting to cook so much. The more I cook, the more I want to eat things that are very hearty and comforting. I will be keeping myself under control though, with more effort than lately. Went for a weekend/road trip this past weekend to see some of my hubby's family that we havent seen in a while, and I did great not stopping anywhere to eat anything. His family cooked for us, and it was horrible. Ground beef tacos, so so greasy, and salad dressing with so much oil in it it went through my bowl, and chicken with all the skin on it, and bagels and cream cheese, and toast with butter, and potatoes, and alot of other stuff I wont put in my body. I did eat the tacos, and it made me sick for the rest of the weekend. I didnt want to make anyone feel bad, but instead I felt like crap. I wont do that again. Next time, I will choose differently. It was still a nice visit though. My in laws are very impressed by the changes my daughters have also made in their eating. Made me feel good. I have started going to church. I noticed that one of the banners on the wall in the church says "self control". How ironic. I will have another good day today.

It's terrible how loved ones pressure us with food isn't it? I understand. Both my grandmothers "loved" us by cooking and smiling at us enjoying the breads, pastas, gravies, fried meats and sweet desserts. I am here to tell you I LOVED them back by eating what they cooked. Today is a new day. Let's make it the very best we can!
