Hello! I'm Terra and I'll soon be 55. I've been heavy all my life and it has pretty much sucked during my fat years and it was awesome during my thin years(which have been a lot fewer than my fat years). I want to get back to my THIN years for good! And by the way, thin for me is a size 10-12, not a size 2.
I live in north Dallas, TX area, have great job and that's about all I have to say about Dallas. My relationship status is "complicated" LOL!! which is one reason I have packed some pounds back on. Stress is terrible. I try to manage with with exercise but don't always feel like getting in there and moving, you know? When I'm depressed I just can't get my brain around my health and well being.
I was born in rural Oklahoma and raised to fry everything and smother it with cream gravy. Although I haven't eaten that way for many years, except on rare occasion, I can't seem to get on a program and stick with it.
I've been on every diet in the world, including HCG, WW, calorie counting, Jenny Craig, NutriSystems, Medifast, Slim Fast, Phen-Fen, Cambridge, Body For Life, Slim For Life, and yes.... weight loss surgery.
In 2003 I was approved for one of the first versions of the Lap Band. I weighed 275. I got it. I hate it. I lost the majority of the weight in the first 6 weeks when I could only have small amounts of liquid protein every 20 minutes. The first piece of solid food I ate was a soft chocolate chip cookie and it was the best cookie I had ever eaten in my life. You see where I come from? Old habits are hard to break.
I'm looking forward to successfully getting these last 40 lbs off on my own so I can have the lap band removed. This website is really cool and have some excellent buddies! I know I disappear from time to time and usually that's when I'm not feeling like "me".
