Starting my day in prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

and ready to take it just this one day, meal, bite, moment & emotion at a time.

After a truly wonderful trip with hubby, friends & both boys followed by an eating, mental & health breakdown, I am officially back & ready to fight the good fight again! I'm back to staying off lactose & gluten, and will try added sugar occasionally (about once every other week) in moderation & eaten mindfully. Because in my slip, I realized a few things -- while I know I am a sugar addict, it became too overwhelming to not eat added sugar at all ever again. So, I'll try, try again with a new approach. This lab rat is truly an experiment & a work-in-progress!

I'm also adding meditation to my daily routine and reading 2 books -- one on living mindfully & one on being an introvert in an extrovert's world. These came about as I was talking with my health coach about feelings I had while being away where at times I felt that instead of living in the moment, I was already planning for the next or re-living the past. I also recognized how exhausting it can be for me to have to be "on" when socializing with others. And finally, I'm making peace with my inner child who still wants to stuff her emotions with food & is resisting finding healthier ways to deal with her sadness, loneliness, exhaustion, etc.

So, that's my story for now, along with continuing to work on eating mindfully which works very well for me when I focus on it. Hope my FS friends are doing well! I've missed you all & feel so good to be back! xoxox

Glad you had a great trip! I think you are approaching this correctly, putting God first in all things and staying focused and mindful of this thing I too have found is the key. Also letting yourself off the hook, not to the point that you have a complete turn around, but to know that we are not perfect and it takes us being aware and support to continue on for a complete lifestyle change. Be blessed!
