I have found a Binge Eating Disorder clinic and I begin therapy this week. I am hopeful that this will help to unlock some of the reasons behind why I have such an unhealthy relationship with food and why I feel that giving up on myself is ok. Then, how to re-order that thinking so that the rest of my life is spent with a more peaceful mind.

I bought a weeks worth of food for ME - letting my husband know that all I ask is that he not bring home 'cr@p' that I might find tempting for the immediate future. The items are not off of a diet or a list, they are healthy and nutritious foods for 3 complete meals and 2 snacks a day. Nothing with elaborate ingredients: eggs, fruit, yogurt, Kashi frozen lunch, kale and lean protein. I even picked up some fiber supplement to help regulate my blood sugar as I'm getting the refined sugars out of my system.

I'm finally giving this a full, fair shot. Open to counseling, open to learning new things, open to doing things differently - basically open to giving a damn.

So, mid-February cold raining day, I greet you with some hope and some faith. Let's see what we can accomplish.

Wow guys! Thank you! I didn't realize anyone was 'listening' but I'm super happy to read the support! The next few entries might be all "Me! Me! Me!" but I'm just trying to get a better idea of what's going on. Forgive any pity party sounding blasts of my horn as I go by :) Best luck to you too!
