Lizzie983's Journal, 17 January 2013

Yesterday somenthing switched in my brain and I do feel better and more active.
Went to attend classes this morning, wnet to thepost office, at the market, to the supermarket. Cooked a good lunch, then hand-washed some stuff and in a few minutes I'm visiting a friend for coffee.
The only thing is: since few days I feel super hungry. When I am longing for comfort food, I know it's emotional eating. But now I am just longign for carbs... For lunch I had 3 slices of bread. Then indulged in the last portion of ice cream in my freezer (won't buy any till my next birthday!!!). I feel hungry all time. Maybe it's because winter finally started here in Germany. We have snow and it's pretty cold. Don't know the reason.
Point is: if I am on a low carb no fructose/sugar diet, there's a reason. I am sick after each "not allowed" food. It's not so nice....
Will try to eat yogurt tonight, maybe I can fool my stomach.

Have a good time, fatsecreters!

I have friends in Germany and they posted pictures of a lot of snow! Stay warm and be safe. I long for carbs too, especially when I am more active. I think its natural like when a car needs gas. For me I just try to stay away from the "easy" fill ups, like candy, cake and ice cream. That is like racing car fuel, and I am not a racing car!

Keep warm! Glad you are feeling better. I truly believe that carbs are addictive and once you have some then your addiction turns that craving on. If you can get past those cravings (without giving in) then in a couple of days they should be gone. Just hang in there.

Hey JP, I am also trying to avoid sweet stuff. I cleaned up my flatfrom unhealthy stuff, so no temptations around me :) the past two days I increased (healthy) carbs and fat, that helped a lot to solve the always-hungry issue. I can really notice the difference, I feel way more active that I did the past few months, it's like I can't stop moving! There's not much smow here, but it's pretty cold. I am glad in 4/5 weeks winter is over!

Right jaime, especially "bad" carbs are addictive. When I give in having some sugary stuff, it seems my body wants more and more and it's never enough. I had more corn and rye bread, no sugar for few days and it's already better. I also used a bit more fat to cook, I think when it's so cold our bodies burn more energy and ask for more, right? :)
