How can I have had two meals and two snacks and still be under 400 calories?! What in the world I can fix for dinner to jump my numbers? I am not in the least hungry and feel like I had a fair amount of food today. Who knew braunschweiger, etc. are low cal foods. /headdesk

That has been the biggest challenge that I've had with Atkins too. Even getting to 1200 calories is tough most days, but I know I have to do it in order to lose. It's a crazy feeling to realize you've been eating all day, aren't hungry at all, and are still too low on your cals, isn't it?

If you like Buttermilk Dressing, Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch has 2 carbs but 140 calories compared with Italian at 80. I also make sure that if I'm having eggs that I cook them in real butter. That helps the calorie count also.

Not on Atkins, but still have a hard time keeping the calories up.

Braunschweiger is a German-style pork liver paté. I used to eat it on crackers but now on celery. *grin*
I had used the last of my blue cheese dressing the night before and didn't have time to shop. So I failed to get my calories. I meant to eat a couple ounces of cheese to get the cals up but it was my singing group and dairy+singing not always so good. And after singing I went straight to bed.
But it is crazy to be on a diet where the biggest problem is no getting enough calories because you have been eating all day and just aren't hungry!

MMMM, I love braunschweiger!!! I am the only one who does, and I use to eat it on bread with miracle whip. Now I eat it in small slices, when I eat it, all by itself as a snack! Delish. I will have to try it on celery and maybe on pork rinds!! Wonder if you smashed it with a fork and add mayo, and maybe some SF sweet relish, if it would be a good dip? And I know what yo mean about the calories. Try some of the beef sausage snacks. They are fairly high in cals and fat, but only 1 gram of carbs per serving.

Yuck - my kids and husband love that stuff..... I honestly have never tried it because I don't like liver so I don't think I would like it. Have some bacon or if you are in owl some nuts or peanut butter packs some calories.
