DaisyInTexas's Journal, 13 December 2011

Waht a day. Who knew that a library was so busy. There are all kinds of things going on behind the scenes that you would have no idea about.

Best moment today? I was coming out of a store and passed a car that had a friend in it. She told me as I passed by that she thought I was a teenager coming out of the store, she didn't recognize me at all! How cool is that?

Bummer moment of the day? Looking in the mirror this morning and realizing I still have 100ish pounds left to lose. *sigh*

However, a piece of mail from my buddy Honestly had some great thoughts. One of them was that it is becoming "normal" now to assess the calories, adjust the portion sizes and just flat out turn down the unhealthy foods. Before I would just eat what I wanted, when I wanted and all day long. Progess is being made!

On other news today, I felt a rib. I was scratching an itch and felt this hard, bony thing and thought, hey! it's a rib!

Major goal: Still wanting to get to California to visit my bestest friend AND be able to sit on an airplane without paying for two seats or needing a belt extension.

I love the amount of energy I have now. Even with 100 pounds to go, with 81 pounds gone, I feel great. Now I just need to get myself to the gym. I have been meaning to do it for weeks now because the weather has been to crummy to walk. I was walking faithfully, every day at least 2 miles. So, Thursday after work, I'm going to try to catch the folks there who can sign me up. (They have really bizarre banking hours.) My plan is to go every day after school, Monday - Thursday and once during the weekend. So, if I don't go on Thursday and report it in my journal, someone hold a cattle prod to my butt!

I loved reading this. It reminds me of my own journey - friends who doesn't recognize you, feeling ribs, all that. It's a good feeling, and even if you have a long way to go still, then you can TELL that you are progressing - and that makes it easier. Well done, and congrats on the little successes!
