KILLER LUNCH!!

I skipped breakfast so I thought splurging a bit on lunch would be OK. I ordered the regular chicken philly cheese steak on wheat bread from Jersey Mike's. I figured it would be around 700 cals, and I was right... it came in as 710 cals. What I did not anticipate was the 22g of fat, half of which was saturated fat, and the 1980 mg of sodium! Literally a "killer" lunch!

Not so bad. In case you haven't heard, the latest science is that saturated fat has been wrongly demonized for the last 30 years! It's the mono- and poly-unsaturated vegetable oils that are the bad guys. In fact, the newest dietary guidelines have taken sat-fat off the "avoid or use in moderation" list altogether. Philly away, my friend!

Now and then I agree is not going to have a significant impact on your goal, just may slow down micro results temporarily. (week or day may be trashed but the month will be fine)

A bad meal every couple of weeks isn't going to derail you, only when it becomes a more frequent regular thing.

Yep, that was a "killer" lunch, but if it isn't a daily thing then no worries. I think the amount of salt is worse than the fat.

We all go through this it's the end of the world it's just the sandwich and tomorrow back on track everything will be better next week. Good luck to you.

I had a Reuben from Which 'Wich the other day, I went whole hog, got the 14" double meat. I have no idea how many calories was in it but yeah, I could see doing that once a month or so.
