Happy New Year! Sydney is doing better! She had a rough time when we first got home and hates her cone. Her biggest challenge is holding her urine. As soon as she has urge, its too late. We are taking her out about every 15 mins. We are hopeful..

Liv, Thanks! We will figure it out. For now we are pretty much home bound and night's are challenging because she has figured out how to take off her diaper. I may take Sherrye's advice and buy a onesie for her so diaper will stay on. She isn't using pee pads either. I am so impressed by her will though. She is extremely resilient. Yesterday her mood was much better. She did get freaked out last night by fireworks. I know all these things are temporary and we are just happy to have her with us.💜💜

Fritzy, Vet said 10 days with cone but we actually took it off yesterday for a bit. She has an irregular lower bite so she doesn't lick as she can't reach it. She tried but was unsuccessful so we are just watching her closely. We did put it on at bedtime though.

Diana she looks alert. She actually looks happy to me. Hopefully the pee situation is temporary. When little Keira grew and her kidneys didnt she would sometimes have accidents but i think that if one was vigilant about letting her out frequently and definitely within 15 minutes of drinking water a lot of that could have been eliminated. Hoping you guys are able to eat to some kind of routine that way because cleaning up accidents is not fun no matter how much we love our furry family. I had a collie i loved dearly we lost 6 years ago and the last 9 months on the days i worked i would come home to an entire room of sticky viscous vomit that covered the entire mud room. He was in the end stages of IBS and unbeknownst to us had a mass growing in his chest tho he had been x-rayed just a couple weeks earlier and no one had found anything. I wasn’t ready to let him go and i would spend about an hour on my hands and knees scouring the floor and him after my 12-18 hour workday. I would be sobbing partially out of frustration partially because i knew he was dying. It was a nightly event. Oh my, that is probably way too much of a visual. My point being that we adjust because we love these furry people and they adjust too. I hope the time remaining with Sydney is filled with love and sweet memories. She’s a lucky girl. You are too. Xoxo my friend🥰

Diana, she looks fantastic, you can see it in her face. I’m so happy for you. If she doesn’t like the pee pads, they have little grass pads where the pee goes through into a pad.

Google grass pee pad for dogs.

Dp, well I am her mama...she's got to be stylish ..😂😂😂🩷 YOH, Today is going better. She used the pee pad once. I was in kitchen making lunch and she came in but I thought she came in because I had food...she apparently had to go out. Hopefully that continues. I've been diligent about taking her out every 20-30 min. If she has an accident, oh well. I totally understand about cleaning up after your dog. I'll do what I need to do. Vomit is a lot worse than urine. Your poor dog. I took all the rugs up, washed the floor and cleaned the rugs again. I'll do it as much as needed..💜💜💜💜💜Katsolo, thanks for suggestions. Sydney finally figured out how to use pee pads. She is having a good day today. I was scared Saturday. I think being home is best! You called that one right. She is much calmer.🩷

Liv, thanks! She is doing better with letting us know she needs to go out before she begins to pee. Baby steps!💜
