Diana 1234's Journal, 31 May 2023

I totally understand if you skip this post cuz I am sick of dealing with this sickness and I'm sure some of you are tired of hearing about it. Was back at Dr yesterday as I had a terrible 2 days of not breathing right and very sore throat and earache. Finally got a Dr who seemed concerned and knowledgeable. I am going on 42 days of being ill. He tested me for strep, COVID, and influenza, All negative. He also tested me for heat failure as he said he didn't like the way my heart sounded and heart failure can mimic coughing symptoms. It was negative but he did suggest I call my cardiologist. He was appalled that I cannot get appt to see my regular doctor. He seems to think at this time my issues are asthma related but doesn't think that was case at the beginning. He referred me to a pulmonologist. Waiting for that to get approved. He put me back in Prednisone, and nasal spray, He didn't give me antibiotics for throat and ears as he said he thinks it's viral, not bacterial. I am still trying to get in with female Dr but her 1st appt is June 27. Meanwhile, I still feel lethargic and the pain from ears and throat is pretty bad. I understand why children cry so much when they have earaches...

All your symptoms with eyes, ears and throat to me sound like you are having a recurrent reaction to an allergen. Have you introduced any new food to your diet or is it possible water has entered your home and there is mold somewhere? I hope you find an answer soon.

Especially the breathing issues and coughing at night when you are home.

sometimes you cant see mold because it is in between the walls, in crawl space or behind insulation. there are services that can come out and test using these meter and air quality detectors. its not invasive they don't tear down drywall or anything.

Wishing you a speedy recovery !

Your ears hurt likely because your Eustachian tubes are swollen from the sinus infection. A decongestant like pseudoephedrine will quickly bring down the swelling and thus the pain.

awww Diana I really hate your dealing with this, my prayers are with you.

I hope they get this figured out soon and you recover quickly. I keep seeing stories about a surge in cases of RSV and especially in a lesser-known upper respiratory virus, hMPV (human metapneumovirus).

Diana, my heart cries for you. I’m so sorry you’re going through all of this but I’m thankful a doctor finally listened to you. Praying for healing ♥️

If doc is pushing you towards cardiologist and pulmonary experts, I absolutely would not take any decongestants without checking with that doc or at least a pharmacist first.

Ask them if they think chronic steroids are also decreasing your immunity? It is hard to get out of that spiral. I also know with chronic steroids you can have adrenal fatigue or more than that even. See if another option is available rather than steroids (obviously follow their directions until they tell you to change course). In my prayers!

if you took the vax, could be vax injury. follow up with cardiologist just to rule it out. there is a post vax protacol that might help

Unfortunately steroids are the most effective at bringing down inflammation. Inflammation in airways causing coughing and restricted breathing. It’s a vicious cycle. The idea someone mentioned about mold should not be taken lightly. We had a house built and within about 18 months noticed that my pulmonary symptoms were worse at night. My hubs thought it was mold in our bedroom. We had a remediation team come out and check and mother (&(&(*&( there was black mold in our brand new super high end shower. The culprit? The glass company didn’t seal the screws when they installed the extra thick shower glass door. Tiny space and entire back of shower had to be pulled out. It’s something to think about Diana. Im glad you are going to see pulmonologist. They will put you in a glass/plexiglass chamber most likely to get more detailed lung function info. Sounds like there is something more at play tho with your ears being involved. Yikes. No one said getting old was for sissies right? Prayers continuing sis.

Black mold can cause pink eye. It can also cause irregular heartbeat. Everyone is familiar how allergens impact breathing. The mold irritation in your nose from the allergen will also impact your ears because of compromising functions. There is a simple blood test where they can test your antibodies for mold. With all the rain and snow this past year it has compromised the exteriors of many homes who don't normally experience those conditions. The doctor is sending you to a pulmonary doctor. But I think they deal primarily with lung issues....which doesn't seem to address the ongoing issues with your eyes and ears.

Try different types of sinus meds. Benadryl works best for me.
