Everyone has got to find inspiration somewhere. I found mine in the trashy OK! magazine in an article about Jessica Simpson losing 10lbs in 10 days. I know that's an unrealistic goal, but it occured to me that my passive weight-loss approach was getting me nowhere fast. So why not speed up the results?

Besides following some specialized diet, Jessica was working out twice a day. I think that's manageable, particularly now, during the summer, when I don't have the weight of class and homework on my shoulders. Jessica's career depends on her being fit and she is doing whatever it takes to get there. I don't have as much at stake but she and I are no different when it comes to bodies getting tired when worked out. If she can do it, why not I? Besides, my trip to the Bahamas is only 5 weeks away and I do not feel confident to strut my stuff in a bikini anytime soon. I've got to get serious about this. Now.

So I ran 5k last night, I'm off to have so breakfast now, pop two caps of Musclespeed to keep me feeling energized and it's off for some time on the elliptical. Then lunch, and work for 8 hours and off to the gym again for another go at that 5k I have to be able to run (with no walking) by the end of the month.

To bribe myself into doing this, I promise myself a new pair of expert running shoes once I reach 130 lbs.

Here's to hoping my motivation keeps up and my knees don't give out!
