I'm an analyst working for the Canadian Department of Justice. Prior to that, I was a Graduate Student at Concordia University. My greatest passion lies in food and nutrition, and I devour books and articles about healthy living, particularly the Paleo Diet and associated research.

Now that I finally have a steady, slower paced routine,I'm taking charge of my life, my diet, my relationship and of everything else that affects me. I'm going to seize the day and make it count!

Update: Heat wave upon heat wave dampened my running gusto. To keep active, I have bought an elliptical trainer which I have placed in my room and use to work out whenever I can. I keep myself motivated watching re-runs of the X-Files on Netflix.

Update: I ran the Ottawa Tamarack Half-Marathon on May 24, 2013 with a PR of 2h41mins! I could have gone faster , I think, but we'll have to test that theory at some other point in time. I injured my knee 2 weeks prior to the race and am proud of myself for pushing through it and completing my event (it was painful, but within reason). I haven't run since, with the hopes of giving my knee a rest. Instead, I try to practice yoga at my local gym.

Update: Tuddy and I were engaged in July 2012 and our wedding in quickly approaching. With the Big Day coming up on Sept 22, 2013, we have lots of planning left which has made exercise fall to the bottom of our priority list. Yet, I still hope to lose 5-7 more pounds before the big day. I'm following the Atkins diet with great overall success. I'm confident I can make this happen, I just need to be patient.

Good Exercise Schedule for Beginner
I agree with j88filly -- life is full of unexpected events! I get my workouts when i can and make sure they're done, even if it is in the weee hours of the night. If not, tomorrow is a new day. But once I missed a scheduled workout, the guilt is ravaging.
