I'm finding it difficult to find a balance between camp life & home life...my diet gets messed up when I'm home. There is really no excuse for it other than when I'm home I have my kids, so I cater to what they like to eat...not the healthiest choices. I should just prepare dinner for them and eat my proper diet...just a pain in the butt having to prepare two meals...

I'll figure it out...my weight is starting to drop, but slowly...might have something to do with the cookies, but that is now stopping. If I don't keep my diet in check, my diabetes will start to become a problem again and I may have to start my medication again.

Later.

You can do this. Just keep reminding yourself, you need to do it for you and your family <3

If you can try and fix foods that are healthier for all of you to eat then that might help. To be honest I do not have children, so I can only speak from an outside point of view, and cannot speak from a parents point of view. Good luck and try to remember that you have to be healthier for them and yourself.

I agree Sherrie, but the kids are pretty picky eaters (well, two of the three are) and since I only get to see them every second weekend, I don't want to be fighting over the food they eat...I still cook healthy for them, but I'm watching my calories and they don't need that...they can have smokies & rice, but I need to be more conscientious about what I take in. Being diabetic, I have to be cautious about carbs since they turn to sugar pretty quick in our systems...meat & salad for me, but the kids want more "fun food"...so hot dogs and Mac & cheese, smokies, burgers...I'll figure it out though. Later.
