I read somewhere (or maybe I heard it) that there comes a time in a woman's life when she simply can't eat the same things she used to when she was younger. I always had a big appetite, but as time went on, my metabolism slowed down. That's only part of it. Processed foods were giving me severe heartburn. I gained a lot of weight on microwave foods. Over the years, I also became less tolerant of dairy foods. I love dairy. It bugs me that I'm lactose-intolerant, but I'd rather not experience the indigestion every single night. Even chocolate was starting to bother me. That's kind of sad. I loved chocolate so much. I eliminated these things from my diet, almost entirely. And...I am noticing a huge difference.... I'm maintaining my desired weight and my skin doesn't break out anymore. Very rarely, at least. Cutting out certain foods wasn't really the end of the world. I found a substitute milk that I enjoy (almond/coconut blend), and once in a while I let myself have a little cheese or some greek yogurt. In the end I had to ask myself "how bad did I want it?" and "which is more important: health or taste buds?" Salads are really yummy though. And fruits and veggies. I am not totally deprived. Good luck on this weight-loss journey, my Buddies. I am with you all the way. You can do it. Keep it up. :)

I congratulate you on your effort! That is a lot of stuff so it can't be easy! It will definitely pay off and it already did in some ways! :) Regarding the milk, here there is lactose free milk though I've never tried it :P As for sweets, now that I'm on a refined-sugar-less diet, fruits and some other things like nuts definitely help me a lot to fill in the gap. I just ate some tasty goji-berries heheh (those tasted bad the first time but now I'm addicted to the taste :)

Thank you, my friends. Oh Euheide, you are right! Nuts are great...I should eat more of them. I keep forgetting to buy them.
